Element Ski School

Element is a small Ski School in Verbier with a focus on quality and on making sure our clients have the best possible time on the mountain. The team is deliberately small - a hand-picked group of the very best, most experienced ski instructors. We run a variety of products with Private Ski Lessons, Performance Camps, Off-piste Camps, Women's Camps and Instructor Training Programmes. We want to take your skiing to the next level. It's that simple.

We spent a week with Emma Cairns in Verbier and cannot say enough about the experience to do it full justice. Emma is THE BEST ski instructor we have encountered in a lifetime of skiing. She brings great enthusiasm, superb teaching skill and a thorough knowledge of the Verbier resort. She is also a particularly lovely person with whom to spend a week on the slopes.
Element appears to espouse a truly client focussed approach to their ski school and it shows in their willingness to design client - specific itineraries on the fly so as to provide an exceptional skiing experience each day depending on skill level, conditions and culinary preferences. We felt very well looked after despite the “terrifying traverse” into Highway...
We will be back!

The mighty mountain, overlooking the city of Lucerne is a must visit beautiful place. The cogwheel, to reach the mountain is one of the oldest man made marvel. During the journey via the cog wheel, one can experience lots of scenic beauty, panoramic views, and tiny water Springs. The thrill of experiencing this engineering wonder, the cogwheel is beyond words. Advisable to do a bit of research regarding the ticket booking or how to reach, as it also depends on the place where one is staying. However, one personal tip is that if you are planning to visit Titlis too, do this trip prior to Pilatus, you would be able to enjoy the cogwheel and Pilatus more! Your Swiss trip is incomplete without a visit to Pilatus.

Amazing hike taking you to a beautiful scenery. Hiked 2,5 h uphill then about 2km flat at the top then 2h downhill. Depending on the season, food options are limited so check ahead (we asked at the base station in Noiraigue, which is also where we parked our car). At the top there was a family of friendly mountain goats. Great hike with the added benefit that you can do a full loop. Highly recommended if you are in fairly good physical condition.

Valle Verzasca

We very - very much enjoyed our day in Valle Verzasca. Luckily we arrived on a Monday and fairly early - it can be very busy on weekends.
First stop the impressive dam and browsed the near by shop for some local products.
The drive into the valley is easy, despite the narrow roads. The scenery is stunning, from the beautiful rusticos and towns, to the steep Mountains, lush forrest, the interesting churches, but the creek and the rocks are simply something else.

I have been to many countries, Switzerland is the cleanest, most beautiful and peaceful place I have traveled. The flowers and Gardens, the lakeside walks and the beautiful mountain range around the lake makes this place a must see. Lausanne and Montreux are stunning. If the cost of living was not so high I would live here. Very peaceful lifestyle.

Aletsch Glacier

Europe's largest glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage site, surrounded by geological glacial featured landscapes and Alpine flora and wildlife.

There are some great views of the start of this glacier from the Sphinx or Jungfraujoch at the Top of Europe. If had more time in Switzerland, it would have been great to head south and catch a better view of the glacier from Eggishorn or Bettmeralp, but I was on a pretty tight timeline so just enjoyed the amazing glacier from the Top of Europe.

Chaplin's World

A scenographic concept unique in the world. The Manoir retraces the private and public life of this genius of the seventh art. The Studio, a new building of Hollywood inspiration, presents the cinematographic work of one the greatest artists of the 20th century. The four-hectare park showcases hundred-year-old trees beloved by Charlie Chaplin and a breathtaking view of Lake Léman and the Alps.

Oeschinen Lake

Oeschinensee is accessible by foot from Kandersteg within 1.5 hours. The cable car operates in summer and winter season daily from mornings till evenings - non stop. In summer enjoy swimming in the lake, boat rides on the blue and clear water or just have fun with the toboggan run at the top station of the cable car. Several hotels around the lake offer rooms in summer. Restaurants are open in winter and summer. The region belongs to the Unesco heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch.

Reviewed By mmmill - Glasgow, United Kingdom

We visited Oeschinensee in mid-October, and were lucky to have a clear sunny day. We took the train from Thun to Kandersteg early in the morning to beat the crowds (which was a good choice), and then got the cable car up to Oeschinensee as soon as it opened. We walked down to the lake from the cable car, and walked all around the area for a few hours to admire the amazing views. Then we headed back to do the toboggan run (it was great fun!) before heading back down to Kandersteg. I would definitely recommend for a day trip!
