We had driven into Pontarlier and chosen the restaurant by chance.
Restaurant was nicely located by the river. Beautiful little house restaurant run by a middle age couple. The food choices were on the blackboard outside the restaurant (we didn't know that).
Food was great. The appetizers were delicious and remarkably made and very presentable. Our main course was a quiche. We enjoyed it tremendously - tasty and just the right amount. Coffee was good and well presented as well.
The owners do not speak any English so communicating with them was a slight challenge with my limited french.

We visited as two vegetarians in Pontarlier (which is often a nightmare) and were really pleasantly surprised by the menu.
The decor is cute and the server, also the owner, was so amazingly polite.
We had half a bottle of grey wine, Moroccan ratatouille starter, sweet (caramelised onions) and normal couscous with vegetables and two ice cream servings for 44 euro - a steal.
The food was made fresh (tagine must be ordered in advance), it was so light and so fragrant, perfectly cooked potatoes in a delicate sauce, the best couscous I've ever tasted and complimentary bread, olives and harissa were great.
When you end up eating heavy regional food everyday, this is a welcome break, and I'll be back everything I visit.

Sunday evening stop over on European road trip, staying near Pontarlier. Hotel owner recommended Le Rendezvous to us. Only one waitress who was rushing around in a panic, sweating. We waited quarter of an hour to even place an order for drinks. Food arrived half an hour after that and was below par. My ham with Rosti was basically two rolled up pieces of ham with packet Rosti fried. My daughter supposedly had fish with menuire sauce. Turned up with little dry pieces of fish and no sauce.

I visited this restaurant with a work colleague after visiting a client in Pontarlier.
We spotted the restaurant after seeing the board advertising the menu in the street; inside the restaurant was nearly full (at around 12:30) but we were seated promptly.
I chose the duck which was was served with potatoes, followed by crème brûlée and a coffee. The meal was uncomplicated, well cooked and hit exactly the spot.
The restaurant was clean and friendly.

Good service good food at a reasonable price, set menu so limited choice. Definitely worth a visit though. Friendly, nice atmosphere

Warm, friendly and attentive service, from the moment we walked in to the minute we left. The food was beautifully prepared and presented - a work of art - it was a pity we had to eat it! Very reasonable price - we would have happily paid 50% more ..
We would never have entered this restaurant without TripAdvisor, which is why we love it!

A little hidden in the old town center of Pontarlier, this is a cosy little place with an interesting menu. We had salty galettes and sweet crêpes, a wonderfully fresh salad and loved every bite of it. Coffee is good here, too.
Service was friendly and quick (it was amazing to watch how one guy could handle it all), and if we lived close by we sure would be regulars here!

We stopped by here on Sunday for a lunch, and were lucky to get a table.
What I have to say is that this family knows how to cook tasty and filling French food. One particular thing that struck us is the egg they offered for a starter. We had to repeat our order - it was that good.

We came to buffalo grill for a quick lunch. Arrived at 1400. Little did we know that we wouldn't leave until 1545. First, we waited 15 minutes until a table was available (though I'm sure there were many tables free, just waiting to be cleaned. Then the waiter came and was incredibly ride (though we're used to that in France). Twenty minutes later, our food still hadn't arrived. Finally, I went to the kitchen to ask, and magically, it was there immediately. However, it was cold and gross. Obviously, it has been sitting there, waiting for the obnoxious waiter to bring it to us. We complained in our poor French, and they took it to heat up. While the plate came back hot, as common from microwave heating, the food was not. We complained and ate it and got out of there "as soon as possible" (almost two hours after coming in)

"Chez ma soeur" everything is made with the heart... Restaurant - Tearoom A home cooking with fresh products, premises, and of season. Here, we peel, we slice thinly, we emulsify, we cut, we poach, we deglaze, we braise... ...Here we cook!
This is a café that does food as well. It is nice and cosy and has a few tables outside for sunny days. The desserts are nice and can be enjoyed in the afternoon with a tea or coffee.
