“La Table de Palafitte” favours local market produce with a menu which follows the seasons. Totally encased in large French windows, the restaurant opens onto the sumptuous surrounding nature with the Terrace as the only barrier. Chef David Sauvignet took over the reins in the kitchen since March 3, 2015. He continues his successful career and brings his expertise on the banks of Neuchâtel. With a solid experience, he offers an authentic cuisine that showcases products of the region.
We had a fabulous dinner. The service was outstanding so was the food. This place is clearly underrated. The atmosphere, the food the ambience... and I would give at least 17 Gault Millau points!

The place was fun. it felt authentic. Loud and plentiful would best describe the place. Don't hesitate it is for me a great Italian restaurant in Neuchatel

The CARDINAL Brasserie in Neuchâtel is an historical place featuring colored eartherware on walls which are protected and part of architectural heritage. You discover the atmosphere of a true parisian brasserie where seafood lovers meet together. Everyday the Chef proposes the menu of the day besides the Restaurant Carte. Le Cardinal was distinguished "Swiss Historical Restaurant of year 2017"
Tonight we went to the Cardinal for dinner. The food was disappointing for a Brasserie. I had the entercote - it was poor beef and the fries were backen in old oil. I just wanted to leave. Sad for the first date with my husband since we are parents... :(

We visited here on two occaisions during our stay in Neuchatel. My wife is vegan, so it is not easy to find good interesting food. The falafels, humous, smoked aubergine and spicy tomato platter was very tasty, served with fluffy pitta bread. The staff were very friendly and well informed. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful old palace in pretty good shape, high ceiling dining rooms, excellent service.
We had a menu degustation which was overall (very) good, with a very nice surprise dessert.
Surely not for a frequent visit, but should you have a special occasion to cellebrate when in the Neuchâtel area, restaurant du Peyrou is surely a very good choice

The MO is a concept of grill restaurant based on the cow, a theme you can find in the logo, the decoration but also in the plate : pure Swiss beef declined into tartares, burgers and grilled meet such as T-Bone steaks or beef filet !
If you want to eat the best steak tartare in the Suisse romande you have to come here...beautifully presented and adapted to your taste (strong or mild). The design of the restaurant is skilfully minimalist and the personnel are very profressional...nice people come to eat here as well!

Centrally located pizzeria, good choice of pizzas and pastas. Attentive staff, no waiting. Pity they do not use fresh champignons and thuna fish, just canned stuff instead. Wine was okay but nothing special. Fine gor a family evening with not too high expectations and budget.

The place is famous for its great cuisine, but they propose also few very pleasant rooms. In the restaurant you can choose "à la carte" or take one of their 7 or 9 plates menus. The real bargain is their "Bistro" formulae - fine dining for very, very reasonable price. If you are looking for inventive, perfectly presented and very tasty food this is the right place.

I'm afraid that we chose a bad moment to visit this restaurant...It seems that the owner just have changed and as a result they do not have more than 10 wines! So, all the wines are served by glass (or I should say by decilitre, as is the custom in Switzerland, just the glasses were not marked...) The choice was very local and not with the best producers. At the same time they had few more interesting full bottles displayed on the shelf, but they were not for sale! The starters were OK - my "Tartare de daurade royale au Yuzu, citron caviar, Ciboulette et poivre du Népal" was well presented, with good taste and some research for originality. My wife's "Carpaccio de bœuf d’Argentine, copeaux de parmesan, Huiles de truffes blanches et germes de radis" was somehow disappointing. For the main course I got "Aile de raie au beurre noisette et câpres", which was pretty nice but too salty. The other main was the "Tartare de bœuf au pesto rouge" and was good and tasty. For the dinner we spend 110 francs, plus another 77 francs for the wine (eleven glasses). There are much better places for such amount...The service was poor - we needed to wave like crazy to get another glass of wine, even if just two tables were occupied. I guess that we will need to try it again, because I didn't understand why they have 13 points Gault Millau...
