Organised a two day private tour with this company. Jo Gumm of 'In The Footsteps' arranged the tour and Jon, our tour guide in France, was with us on both days. We were picked up at 09:00 and dropped of after 17:30 each day from our hotel in Amiens. Jon is a registered battlefield tour guide.
Jon had done some research on our family members and took us to the spot where our relatives had fallen. Using trench maps he pinpointed where they fell and outlined the objectives of each battle. Although my Great Uncle has no known grave, by deduction, Jon was able to identify the cemetery near the battle ground where he fell and we were fairly sure that he was buried in the AIF cemetery in an a grave marked 'Known only unto God'. We saw my Uncle's inscription on the Theipval Monument and my friends grave in the Bellenglaisse Cemetery.
Jon linked visits to other military Cemeteries on our tour with lots of information about the Somme battles from July through to November 1916.
We arranged our own flights, transfers and accommodation and linked these to the tour arranged by Jo Gumm, Jo offered lots of advice throughout.
Jon's knowledge of the Somme battle and other battles was excellent. We were able to put the scale of the conflict into perspective and were overwhelmed by things.
Doing things this way meant we flew direct to France from Liverpool, arranged our own private transfer with 'Suntransfers.com' (who I can also recommend) and picked a decent Amiens city centre hotel. Our tour centered on what WE wanted. Be sure, we were not part of a 40 seater bus that did a standard, non-personal tour.
This way meant no long bus journey to the Eurostar terminal, no train journey and no bus journey from the train station to a mystery hotel or B&B.
I can recommend this company and selecting your own method of transport and hotel etc. With careful selection of flight dates and hotels, the final price per person for the 2 day tour was much less than a pre-organised routine tour and transport times to and from France were significantly quicker.
WE saw and did so much more than we anticipated. Strongly recommend this approach and this company.

Great fun was had by all with Canoe the Wye.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the experience was excellent. It's a really nice way to spend a summers day!
The time limit is more than you will need, giving you plenty of time to stop for a beer at a pub or do what we did and stop on one of the shoal Beaches for a picnic.
Highly recommended.
I'm already looking forward to and planning my next visit.

Popped in when in area. It was closed, but still accessible along a leafy path and I enjoyed the views of the outside of the castle and the surrounding area and the information boards were accessible. Will definitely try to visit when open, but do walk up there if it is closed.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist she was informative and told us how we could help the centre with our admission including gift aid.The first part of the centre there are birds on an open lawn which really sets the tone for a fabulous experience of birds of prey. The next part the hawk walk had many species with plenty of information about feeding, breeding and even the birds personality. After refreshments in the very clean and well stocked cafe we were treated to a flying demonstration.Wow what a performance by 5 different birds under the guidance of 3 different handlers. They have 3 of these each day and use has many different birds as possible.I would highly recommend this experience for people of all ages.We would like to return for there winter owl evening event.

We absolutely love this cinema and go a couple of times a month, this is due to the very reasonable pricing of tickets, sweets and drinks and that there is free parking nearby. Worth our 20 min drive each way without a doubt. Clean facilities and nice staff. Keep up the good work.

Love this site everything is spotlessly clean and well kept. The toilets, showers and grounds.
The site is in an idyllic setting next to the river they have the most amazing sunsets.
There's lots to do in the local area you really are spoilt for choice, we wished we could have stayed longer.
The site restaurant and shop make it so easy. The shop has delicious fresh bread and rolls every morning. The burgers and sausages were perfect for our BBQ.
The restaurant and bar is open until 9pm in the week and 10pm Fridays and Saturdays. Was really busy on the weekend so be quick if you plan to eat or book in.
We sampled the desserts and they were really nice, big portions too!
We stayed in school holidays so it was busy however the children were happily playing in the vicinity of the play ground.
The rest of the site was peaceful with many choosing to sit out drinking wine or the local cider in the Sunshine.
Can't wait to visit again!
