Welcoming "local" that probably relies mostly on passing trade. No twee or fussy decoration - nonetheless it has atmosphere. Decent choice of freshly prepared good-value pub-grub. Ideal on a cold January lunch time. Will return.

what a find - booked for Friday 6.15pm expected an empty restaurant - 4 tables already taken and during the time we were there it filled up. Food excellent, service with a smile, flipped over (as in omelette) poppadums, very tasty, big choice of starters and main courses. We paid £50 which included a decent tip for 2 courses and 2 beers and a glass of wine. If we lived in Ross-on-Wye we would go there again, sadly it's a 3 hour trip each way.

Stayed here for one night for my birthday. Lovely location and views. Room was excellent and so quiet. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. Meals were excellent and service. Breakfast was ample with plenty of choice. Busy with locals on a Friday evening.Dear Elaine, So great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us for your Birthday - sounds like you had a lovely time with us. Rob, Lead Receptionist

We enjoyed an excellent family birthday celebration. The rooms were very clean and presented well with a modern touch. Rooms quite warm but, easily solved with turning valve lower. The evening meal was lovely and service excellent, everyone was attentive and polite and had a smile. Breakfast was good with a varied choice, just a few mishaps with some items which were not asked for but, nothing to moan about. We will definitely return. Thank you all for your great service.

The booking and reservation service for dinner here was second to none - extremely helpful and communicative. On the evening, waiting staff were very friendly, although some were a little quirky with their comments (we were wished 'good luck' by one at the start of our meal.....). Music was decidedly odd - fluctuating between heavy rock and jazz. We found the atmosphere to be spoiled by rather bright overhead lighting. The food was tasty, plentiful and nicely presented.

Glewstone Court Restaurant is a 2 AA rosette restaurant within the Glewstone Court Country House serving traditional British and European cuisine. Dress code is smart casual and it is recommended that you make a reservation.
I know it's 3 weeks late but wanted to say anyway.
We had a Christmas dinner a little while before Christmas. It was fabulous and even though our waitress had obviously fallen out with the waiter it was a stunning meal. The waiter was very professional but the waitress was stoney faced and slapped our food down. It didn't spoil our meal too much but we did all notice, even my elderly father. It must be difficult when you fall out but there's ways of managing it.
Beautiful surroundings and excellent value.

Very welcoming and extemely busy for a mid-week lunch time. I was glad that I'd booked! We chose the 3 cheese tart for mains but opted for the smaller portions - later regretted as it was very tasty! Delicious desserts followed and I will certainly return.
