This is a fabulous park in all seasons. In the summer, you can rent kayaks/paddle boats, and walk through a variety of trails of differing distances. In the winter, there are wonderful snowshoeing trails of varying fitness levels, and cross-country trails. Any time of year, if you bring seeds you can feed birds by hand!

The Pulperie was one of the top Mechanical pulp mills in the world in its hay day. Unfortunately chemical processes made the mechanical processes obsolete and the Pulp mill had to close. They ave made a museum out of the Workshop, but much of the site is not much more than ruins now.

Pick-nicked here amongst the sweet smelling lilacs, wonderful shrubs and shade trees. In the far distance we could see the bridge spanning the Saguenay River and thought perhaps it was only a pedestrian bridge as we did not see any traffic. There's a Fountain in the water gushing from a stone pedestal creating yet another vista. People were walking the paths, bicycling or jogging and there were other groups having a picnic. We also saw a double carriage train full of exuberant children chugging along. Plenty of parking and a good stop on your travels.

I came during the week (it's right beside le petite maison blanche) just because I was in the area and it looked as though it were inviting spectators. There's nothing going on, per se, but you can go in and have a look. They have a permanent miniature nativity scene set up on one side, and a miniature village scene set up on the other. I'm not sure why. I didn't see any explanation posted anywhere. However, I also went for a mass, and they had an organ player as well as (what seemed to be) a professional singer who sang during the mass. It was absolutely beautiful. And then I noticed on my way out, that they had a schedule posted of different singers and organ players who would be performing during various masses during the summer (maybe during the whole year?). Anyway, I recommend taking in a sunday mass if you're in the area.

Stopped at the museum during our HOHO bus tour of Saquenay, Quebec, after recent HAL cruise. Museum worth a visit and grounds with flood damage and stairways around the property good for a brief hike. TIcket price was reduced for cruise ship passengers.
