Located in the heart of the Wilderness village, we are a multi award winning, Top 10 Restaurant on the Garden Route. Come and relax in a cosy, African inspired atmosphere highlighted by stunning artwork by local artist, Peter Pharoah. We have an imaginative menu combining high quality local produce with distinctly different flavours. Popular menu items include fresh linefish, succulent prawns, tender steaks and flavoursome curries all cooked to perfection in our open kitchen where you can see the chef at work. Our award winning wine list has been carefully chosen to offer a wide selection of local South African wines to enhance your dining experience. We have handmade crafts in our curio shop upstairs and free Wi-Fi available. We look forward to welcoming at The Girls
We have dined in The Girls several times over the years but this was the most impersonal dinner experience ever. We felt like we were being processed in a “couldn’t care less” dining machine. The contrast with our meal, the night before, in their sister restaurant (Flava Cafe) was palpable.
Apart from the soggy garlic bread and soggy chips, the fillet steaks were fine but what a disappointing dining experience.
This place feels like a restaurant that’s coasting and well past it’s best. The trouble is, there isn’t much competition in a small town like Wilderness to keep it on its toes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our entire dining experience at Serendipity.
The food was unusual with combinations of flavours that we are not familiar with in the UK. The balance of the dishes was excellent.
We went for the suggested wine pairings and the descriptions of the provenance of these was a delight as well as the quality.
There are apparently no Michelin stars in South Africa, otherwise Serendipity would definitely have one or two.
The prices for this quality of cuisine are very reasonable.
A dining highlight of our trip so far

This place is a joke. The food is way below par. We were served hot wine had to ask for an ice bucket. Server was all over the place. Prawns smelt bad. Chorizo was not chorizo. Chips soggy. Very disappointed.

Zucchini is blushing from all the attention... Voted in the "Top 20 Culinary Destinations" in the Garden Route for three years running as voted by the Chaines des Rotisseurs. Also voted best "Family Restaurant" in the Garden route for the last two years. If walls of this honest country restaurant could talk the conversation would include words of fresh, vibrant, from scratch, home grown organic and compliments to the chef. To us simplicity is the key. You can expect dishes filled with flavour, a taste experience for the natural foodie. Zucchini Restaurant is in the Timberlake Organic Village in Wilderness. We offer a selection of Vegetarian meals but also offer game dishes like the "Springbok Shank" or our "Trio of Carpaccio". A mix of local-made micro brews from the tap! 32 Different types of local beers to taste, not to be missed. Play park for the kids, and a host of activities to keep them busy while you relax on our couches and sip a glass of wine.
Lovely restaurant to visit either for a quick meal or nice long sit down. They have they nicest beers on their menu. You must try!

Beejuice Cafe is situated at the Old Railway Station in Wilderness, surrounded by beautiful Gardens and the old railway line. We are easily accessible from the N2 (turn left off the N2 just before heading up the Kaaimans Pass towards George - left again brings you to the tracks - you will spot us!) We are a stone's throw from the beach and dogs are welcome on a lead
This is a fun place located in a neighborhood very near the ocean. It can be a little challenging to find but is worth the search. Any fish dish is well prepared and the servers knowledgeable and attentive. Prices are reasonable and portions generous

Certainly not fine dining at Joplins. Basically steak and chips, with only 3 front of house staff and an extremely casual looking cook (I can't call him a chef, as he was dressed in his own clothes with a baseball cap worn back to front) Chips were fresh and the best part of the meal. The service was as casual as the food. Prices were high for what was offered on the plate and the surroundings

Pomodoro is the meeting place of the locals and you will always find it buzzing with activity. The outside terraces offer a front row seat of the village activities which, together with the laid-back atmosphere and great food - the perfect place to while away the hours. Owner Claudio will warmly welcome you to this restaurant which they have worked so hard to make the best in the Wilderness. Pomodoro Restaurant is very serious about the quality of the food they serve. The pizzas are possibly the best on the Garden Route and the beautiful salads, antipasto, pastas, grills and seafood never fail to satisfy.
New to George, I am staying with a dear friend. A booking was made to celebrate my friend's birthday. We were all thoroughly looking forward to eating in this restaurant. my hosts had explained that the ambiance was second to none.
However, our celebratory meal was marred right from the outset. As we were taken to our tables, a waiter bellowed that we had to be out within two hours that another booking had been made. We were all quite affronted by this rude and hostile approach. Our tables were inadequate for our party, so we had to help rearrange the Seating. My friend, whose birthday it was, was offended and upset. This all greatly affected our evening. The food was so-so but the initial confrontational approach and various other inefficiencies in service spoilt what should have been a happy evening.
This is my first visit to South Africa from Britain. I have enjoyed excellent service and food at other restaurants during my stay. This experience was not up to this country's standards.
I would add that my hosts and their friends are well respected residents of George.

A venue where 'flavas' and textures come together on your plate. A simple and trendy vibe sets the scene for a dining experience that promises to leave its mark on your Wilderness holiday. The unusual flavours are created by our singing chef in the open kitchen - while he is preparing your meal enjoy your drink upstairs in the Wilderness Sunshine

Situated at the Touw's river mouth in the Wilderness, facing west with sea and lagoon views serving island style cuisine. Sunsets on the upper deck with a cocktail, add a whole new dimension to the end of a beautiful day and start of a great evening.
Lively and busy without being loud. Terrific service and very good food with a menu that offered a very wide range of choices.

Nice place to sit outside and again gluten free options not a problem. The focaccia was enormous. The mussels for me with an adjusted GF sauce was lovely. Good service from Sandra.
