Montreux Palace is just the place to be! Its all about luxury here! I loved the room facilities, restaurants, and the entire layout - but whats most beautiful there is the view!! You can't imagine how divine it is! Staying here is like you are living in a fairytale for few days! Montreux itself if truly heaven on earth, having on top of that such hotel with sip of wine and great meal..... all you need! Im hearty recommending this stunning luxury property!

The Museum is situated in a historical building in the old town of Montreux and it is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the main train station. Founded in the early years of the worldwide known Montreux Jazz Festival The Museum has been the place to be for many internationally known stars like Mick Jagger and David Bowie to name but a few. The setting is traditionally Swiss with an authentic atmosphere. In summer a peaceful court invites families and friends to enjoy a meal in a relaxing environment. The Museum accepts groups of up to 150 people and it is the ideal place for family or company events, but it is also a romantic place if you'd like to spend a privileged moment with your loved one. The Museum honours the Swiss cuisine with many different cheese and meat fondues of the highest quality. You could also try their famous' Charbonnade', a charcoal grill on which you grill your meat according to your own taste! Most of the menus are served with the outstanding potato gratin made with chef's secret ingredients (this includes 10 different Swiss cheeses). We look forwards to welcome you soon !
Having spent 10 days in Switzerland and France we ate a lot of cheese and fondue. This was our favorite. The restaurant is quaint/cozy. The staff is helpful. Like most restaurants in Switzerland, they do not rush you (so at times it may feel like...MoreDear Allval Thank you for your review! We hope to see you again at our restaurant! Was an absolute pleasure greeting you. With respect, Restaurant le Museum Team

An incredible line-up of traditional and house cocktails envied by many in Switzerland! Offering simple, fun gourmet eating coupled with a wholehearted, unpretentious welcome, Funky Claude's Bar is a great place to drop by or hang out late into the night, whether you're local or just passing through the Riviera. Faithful to the world of Festival founder Claude Nobs, the decor and choice of materials invite you to settle in and chill out for an unforgettable moment at the best live venue in town.
On our first visit to Montreaux we came here with good friends (as it was highly recommended). A Saturday evening, we arrived early while it was quiet which enabled us to take a table near the entertainment. We spent the entire evening enjoying fantastic food (the burgers were amazing!), service and great music. The bar was full by the time we left late on and the atmosphere was lovely, really welcoming. Regis in particular, with his unique passion for his bar and knowledge of whisky made it a memorable experience. We will return when time permits.

Table service. Good coffee. Cakes are pricey but the croissants & brioche are cheaper. Certainly one of the busiest around Montreux centre.

I stayed in the hotel in July, 2011 and found it old but charming. I did not have the chance to try the restaurant till July, 2012. We arrived hungry at about 1:30 in the afternoon, near the end of the regular lunch time. We were handed a 15-page menu and told we must complete our order immediatey before the kitchen closed. OK, I know the custom but come on... I asked for 5 minutes and was harangued by the waitress. When she finally shut up, I held up 3 fingers and insisted on her giving me 3 minutes. She relented with a sigh.
One in our party surrendered and ordered a Sandwich. Two got the plat du jour and I got the ubiquitous "filets de perches" served everywhere on the shores of Lac Leman. We all really wanted a nice salad but could not decipher the menu with all its charts and tables listing various prices depending upon your selection.
The food was all pretty good. Compared to other lakeside restaurants in this very touristy area, it was slightly above average. I recommend choosing a more casual place for lunch or showing up early enough to allow yourself time to figure out the way-too-complex menu. Despite the custom of closing the kitchen after lunch, there really is no excuse for the service we got. There are plenty of average restaurants in the area. I'll choose another next time.

The first small cream accompanied by the Reading of newspapers in the morning at the ultimate gloria drunk in the middle of the night, the OASIS opens its doors Our panoramic Restaurant is located at the edge of water (140 seats), ideal for a head to head, family reunion, business or groups... The pontoon water (former steamer landing of 80 seats) is offered to you during the heyday for a moment of relaxation in the company of swans and ducks. We are open from 8:00 to midnight. Restoration from 11:00 to 23:00 non-stop. 365 Days a year Car parking and BUS in front of the hotel
Went for lunch on a Thursday in July. Very nice views and ice cream but the service really drags it down.
THE GOOD
Ice cream- so much choice and whatever you pick it will be delicious!
The view- the restaurant is right on the lake, so you get phenomenal views.
THE BAD
The prices are too high for what is being offered. The food is simple. It's edible but will do little more than satisfy your hunger.
They somehow "forgot" to mention that they don't take cards until after the meal. Simply disrespectful to your guests.
One of us arrived 20mins later than the rest and was told that the main menu is no longer being offered, however when they pointed at a salad from the main menu that was already on the table they were more than happy to make it. Why not just give the main menu to begin with?
Little things like getting up to look for the waiter and asking for drinks multiple times before they arrive...all add up to make the service less than ideal.

We were staying at the 'Soleil' along the street, a super small hotel, but we didn't fancy its restaurant with its Oriental décor - just our prejudice. So we ate twice at the Etoile and were not disappointed. One night we had a Rosti and a salad. We fancied a few chips with these dishes so I asked for a small portion. A vast bowlful appeared of which we struggled to eat half. On the bill it was described as '1 PORTION DE FRITES ENFANT' ! The wine, half a litre of local white, cost SF14.50, which struck me as reasonable for Switzerland. The whole meal was good value, and I recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly. The pavement Terrace where we ate gave good opportunity for people-watching, (passers-by as well as fellow customers!). Well-supported by local regulars who give to and get lots of banter from the waitresses! Good 'craic'.

La Gondola offers excellent pizzas and atmosphere - If you come outside the peak hours.
We visited in the restaurant in July 2013. We came in on thursday evening at 7 pm. There we're only few customers at that time and we made our orders quickly.
Restaurant has a nice italian atmosphere and pizza was tasty. Just like anywhere in Switzerland, it was also expensive.
After 7.30 pm people started to rush in. Service started to get slow and I saw other customers become frustrated.
So If you want to enjoy this restaurant, be there early! Note that staff did not speak English. We didn't speak French, but the menu wasn't that hard to understand.

Visited after a good hike and thought we may have been a bit underdressed but everything was fine. Extremely friendly service, food was quick and delicious. It's Swiss Restaurant prices, but probably as good value as you will find in the area.
