The Restaurant La Cuisine provides a creative cuisine keen to encourage regional products. Since 1994, this restaurant offers quality food enjoyed by the gourmet. The originality of his dishes comes from the fact that they are mostly completely homemade. Chef: David Janelle.
We dined on Sunday evening, without booking in advance. Our waiter, Renaud did a great job- he's friendly, good English speaker (not too common in this part of Quebec...) and was very nice to chat with, despite the busy evening.
We had Foia Gras of duck and Fondue of cheese for a starter- both were very tasty, although small portions.
For mains we had a 16Oz. of Sirloin steak (I don't understand why the Canadians, working with the metric system, insist on the ounces when measuring meat...) and Bretzle-crusted grilled Salmon. These two were great, and made exactly to the right measure. It was accompanied by two Cabernet Sauvignon glasses. Desserts were creme Brullee and Citronette. Not too sweet.
This meal, together with one espresso, cost $160, including tax. Not cheap. but worth it.

Comfortable stay at Le Montagnais, possibly not the newest hotel in the Saguenay region, however it is kept up to par by excellent and attentive staff. The Legendary restaurant and bar make this an excellent choice for a centrally located, all amenities hotel. Great for my business needs.

We needed to find a restaurant that offered adequate parking for our vehicle so after driving a bit we found Piazzetta, We entered and were seated right away. We were in a quiet area and could see a fireplace nearby. We chose the thin crust pizza. Service was prompt and the price was reasonable.

Great place for small groups but mostly coffee with a friend. Lots of students. It's ok to bring a stroller or kid(s)....you won't get evil looks from staff but maybe/typically from the locals. Coffee is best in town. They really try to be hipster and organic....A for effort. Food is decent too.

Our family hit the Passion Café for lunch after biking during our vacation. We were looking for a quick lunch that was tasty and healthy. My wife and I also wanted some good quality iced coffee to energize the afternoon. The Passion Café hit most of our targets really well.
The offer a nice variety of creative panini-style sandwiches with a range of different cheeses and meat/fish choices. I enjoyed a Croque Monsieur with local Brie cheese while my wife was pleased with her selection while our daughters devoured the grilled chicken and cheese croissant. The sandwiches came with a choice of at least 10 different salads. We mixed and matched couscous, marinated tomatoes, beets and corn and bean options, all of which were delicious.
The staff was super friendly and helpful when it came to advice for our order, bringing the food to us and picking up the table. I am not used to such service in a coffeeshop style/lunch café.
My only advice is around the iced coffee. We ordered the house brew which may have been good, but the served the coffee with the cream already in it, instead of letting us do it ourselves. Since we normally only take a hint of cream, their generous portion of cream in the coffee made it not as good as we had hoped.

I was in Chicoutimi on business, staying the Hotel du Fjord, and decided to try the smoked meat here. Coming from Montreal, where we have the world's best smoked meat, I may be a little biased. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is very friendly. I ordered a beer on tap, and got a nice big mug. I had the smoked meat Sandwich with fries and slaw. While it all was very good, it doesn't compare with places like Lester's Deli, the Main, or Schwart's in Montreal. Don't hesitate to eat here.
