Nova Scotia Welcome Centre

Reviewed By David B - Saint-Lambert, Canada

We stopped here on a cross country road trip and were very impressed with this visitor center. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and we received information about Nova Scotia and they also had Newfoundland Information, travel maps and ferry schedules. We also spent a bit of time looking at the large selection of souvenirs at the well-organized gift shop and my wife bought something she wore all the way to the west coast. This visitor center is definitely worthwhile visiting.

Fort Beausejour National Historic Site

Reviewed By Mosswing - New Brunswick, Canada

The beautiful geographic setting of this site gives much insight into the importance of the fort which was first built by the French and then taken over by the British in 1755. The view of what remains of the dyked marshlands and the stunning pastoral landscape alone is practically worth the detour.
On site, we found the guides very helpful, enthusiastic, and well informed. The interpretive center has a broad range of artifacts to capture the imagination, and I enjoyed poring over the interesting copies of old French maps which give much insight into the once strategic importance of the region as a whole. There are also activities for children and areas to have a picnic lunch. There's a lot of history here which makes Fort Beauséjour/Fort Cumberland an interesting pace to visit if you enjoy learning about the history of Canada.

Sackville Waterfowl Park

Reviewed By Michele K - Bridgewater, Canada

We have been stopping here for years on our travels. I love it. My teenage son now likes it as there are many pokestops and Pokemon to be caught, who knew. I can spend a few hours watching the birds here. I enjoy listening to them and photographing them. The trails are maintained very well. It is always peaceful here and the tourist bureau people are always very helpful when you have questions and I love a clean washroom for break time.. it is important.

We visited in the afternoon and enjoyed a walk about. We took mixed seed in hopes of attracting birds, but we got to visit with the squirts instead. Still an enjoyable experience.

The Aulac Visitor Centre is a Provincial Visitor Centre conveniently located just off the Trans Canada as you enter New Brunswick from Nova Scotia. We stopped at this Centre on each of our three road trips to the East Coast this summer and have always been very impressed with the friendly, knowledgeable staff who provided helpful accommodation suggestions that were a perfect fit for us. We also appreciated the phone calls they made on our behalf which saved us a lot of time. This Visitor Centre is definitely worthwhile visiting if you are heading to New Brunswick and want helpful advice about the province.

Deanne Fitzpatrick Rug Hooking Studio

Reviewed By Katie O - Duanesburg, New York

Deanna Fitzpatrick is an amazing rug hooker! She has a distinctive style and it was fabulous to watch her in action, hooking and with an exception eye for color and design. Her store has everything you need to hook, yarn for knitting and weaving as well as fiber and tools for felting. The dyed wool is BEAUTIFUL and there are multiple people there to help! I loved the store and the experience of watching Deanna hook and recommend it to anyone interested in fiber activities and fiber art.
