Lovely place right on the water front. Had scallops to start, they were perfect. Had fillet mignon and half lobster as a main. The steak was perfect, the lobster a little on the small side. All with a lovely merlot, and an excellent dessert. Not a budget restaurant, not overpriced either. A great atmosphere, excellent service, and really good food. Highly recommend!!

Enjoy superb Italian cuisine in our stylish Old World setting. Large selection of fresh seafood, pasta, veal, steak, lamb and duck dishes. 2 Separate dining rooms available for private parties up to 65, extensive wine cellar. Proudly serving you for over 30 years!
This is a real five star restaurant —especially for NS. Service, ambiance and amazing meals. My favourite is the ravioli with lobster, and the calamari is to die for!
One of few places in Halifax where they either know enough, or care enough to actually decant your $150 bottle of wine.

The name seemed familiar but I'm not sure that I've ever been here before; I don't get to Halifax often. I chose it because I love Italian, but I ended up choosing the unusual option of rack of lamb with blueberry compote. I love rack of lamb and the mix with blueberries seemed so unusual that I couldn't resist. It was delicious. I started with their version of caesar salad which was also quite good. I normally don't like bacon with my caesar salad because it tends to overpower everything, but with this mix it worked quite well.
Overall, a delicious meal. I want to come back to sample the more traditional Italian dishes. I'd intended to have veal scallopini and some pasta, but couldn't resist the lamb rack with blueberries! Sometimes the unusual options are irresistible.

Wow!! This is Halifax' best brunch! Food was fresh, well presented, and service was first class - thank you Courtney. Butter chicken, roast beef, seafood chowder, sushi, baked salmon, smoked salmon, desserts and much much more! Well worth the price, definitely will be back.

Group of eight golfing friends went to Gio restaurant last night. The restaurant is part of the Prince George Hotel. The food was delicious especially the veal shank. Besides the beautiful restaurant and food the evening was made by our hostess and server Terri. She was so attentive to all our needs. Even stood on a chair to take a group photo!! Will definitely go back!

Hi, as always we love your pizza. It is the best pizza in Halifax bar none. We were recently in for a sit down meal. We wanted to order a Caesar salad and a large pizza as we wanted left over pizza to take home...MoreLisa, what can I say? I'm a stickler for rules ... My bad. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience otherwise.

Fredies Fantastic Fishhouse is a small diner located in Bayers Lake Park. We specialize in Fresh Fish and hand cut Fries, Chowder, Fresh Whole Clams, Digby Scallops and Pure Lobster Rolls. We are passionate about providing our Customers with the best service and freshest seafood that Nova Scotia has to offer.
Fredies was on winter vacation, but now they are open again. I was in the mood for a lobster roll, on a sunny afternoon. As I entered, I was greeted with a smile from one of the friendly waitresses. I ordered a simple lobster roll to go, with Fredie’s sauce, no mayo, no fries. It came to $18 and change, taxes in.
I liked it a lot. Actually it was probably one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. There were lots of large chunks of lobster meat, on a bed of tender green lettuce leaves in a fresh roll, with just a touch of dressing on top. It was very tasty and enjoyable, and just the right size for me. Of course, the chunky lobster was the best part!
I was happy that I came. I can highly recommend Fredie’s lobster roll, as well as the friendly waitresses! We are lucky to have this restaurant in Bayers Lake.

Costal is quaint little breakfast/lunch spot.
We were in town to see the buskers and had to checkout a good breakfast spot.
The server at the counter recommended the glorious sunrise so I order that.
It was awesome. Super tasty and super quick. Salmon was on point and the sour dough was very fresh and toasted just right.
My friend had the oeufs d'ete and she was super happy with her meal. Her omelette was cooked correct and the brie was very creamy.
Get to this spot i ya can! its very much worth the wait.
