Booked Insight Activities through a recommendation from a friend. The lads weren't disappointed! They chose to do the trio of activities, axe throwing, crossbow and archery. All found the axe throwing really difficult but all were equally really fun to do and great value for money! The staff were friendly and very informative and despite the snow and cold, everyone had a great time and would definitely do it again!

Our daughter had a fab time at Arniss. She spent a half a day there cleaning out the horses, learning about caring for them, went riding them and fortunately a farrier was in that day. So she got see him shoeing the horses, which was a bonus.
She has had a few 1 to 1 lessons here and she loved them. I just wish there was a riding school as good as this near where we live, will definitely be going back.

New Forest Water Park

Reviewed By splashcat - New Milton, United Kingdom

Inflatable obstacle park - first class fun for overgrown children... ok yeah, and actual kids too. Reasonably priced and seems to have space for everyone to have a godo time even when it's pretty full, definitely a quality way to spend Sunday afternoon. The changing facilities could do with a bit of improvement, no only number of shower cubicles and size of the group changing rooms but also the quality - only half of the shower jets actually work and there's an intriguingly aromatic scent to the air around the area. Still, not worth putting you off, recommended.

Hockey's Farm Shop

All of the meat sold at the farm is very carefully sourced. We produce our own rare breed British Lop pork, our beef is produced by Andrew, our family friend in St. Ives, just outside Ringwood. We have lamb sourced from the Richard here in the New Forest or from Dorset. Paul is also in the New Forest, his bronze and white turkeys are excellent and available for Christmas. Nathan, our butcher, only sources meat that is fully traceable, free from unnatural additives and, of course, very good. Our sausages and burgers, all made here, contain no additives or preservatives. Our Farm Shop stocks every day provisions, fresh locally baked bread and pastries, newspapers, local fruit and vegetables, dairy produce, fish products and a well-chosen selection of wines and local beers and much more. `The Farmyard Café`, is licensed and serves Lavazza coffee along with tempting hot and cold snacks. You are welcome to wander around the farm to see our collection of rehomed domestic animals, our farm animals, the sheep, the British Lop pigs, the chickens and ducks and the birds in the aviary and of course, Nemo, our New Forest foal amongst others. We pride ourselves on supporting the local community and local producers whilst providing good service, a friendly approach and all that is traditional in a farm shop. We look forward to seeing you, either at the farm or when we deliver to you.

We visited this while on holiday having google for gluten and dairy free food shops. Unfortunately they had no fresh gluten free sausages as advertised so we had to buy frozen. These were not very nice and had a weird taste to them ??garlic??spices. The range in the shop was limited and expensive. Very disappointed.

Breamore House

Reviewed By Alan B - Salisbury, United Kingdom

Visiting Breamore House has been on my wife's agenda for about 20 years and as we only live about 40 minutes away I couldn't put if off any longer and I'm glad we didn't.
The Countryside Museum is very good and worth a visit in it's own right and I could easily have spent a couple of hours looking around the range of exhibits but we had to crack on to catch our house tour.
The house itself is really quite fascinating and still lived in by the current owners. The tour took us through the main halls, dining rooms and bedrooms and we were bombarded with interesting descriptions of past events and of the characters in the many paintings throughout the property. The tour guide's knowledge of the house and it's history was encyclopaedic and she was rarely unable to give to the many questions I and others asked.
We stopped off at the Tea Bar for a swift cuppa before heading home and although the place was heaving with a coach party, the staff were friendly and courteous throughout.
A great afternoon.

St Mary, Breamore

Reviewed By NewMacDonald - London, United Kingdom

Having taken a trip to see Breamore house (which was closed) we shortly after stumbled upon St Mary's Church so our trip was not totally wasted as Breamore village also boasts an exceptional example of an Anglo Saxon church including Anglo Saxon inscription rather than Latin making highly unusual as many Anglo Saxon churches were destroyed in the Norman conquest of 1066.
The church is free and contains many information boards explaining the history of the church.

Groups and school are welcome, contact us for more details. Please check our website for opening hours.

I love these off-the-beaten-track places. This is a small site but well worth a visit if you're in the area and like a bit of history. Small but interesting museum display, kids loved the ability to dress up in Roman clothes!!! The villa remains are interesting with some beautiful mosaics and its all set in a stunning location in the English countryside, Well worth a visit on a sunny day.
