Been coming here for years. Always a warm, friendly welcome. Mike and Michelle have clearly invest their heart and soul into the Waterloo, making it the best all round establishment in the village for locals and visitors alike. Always a broad selection of beers and cider on tap coupled with a variety of excellent food.
Currently showing the Six Nations for those who are rugby minded. Sunday evening provides live music, showcasing some of the best local musicians.
Well worth popping in whether passing through or in the area for a longer stay.

The Trusty servant, is a traditional New Forest Pub with Real Food, Real Ale and Real Atmosphere! Dogs and children welcome. Now with 5 amazing bed and breakfast rooms!!
Six family members had Sunday roast here last week after a recommendation from a friend. Maybe we were just all unlucky. The meal was awful, and with the automatically added service charge, we paid £25/head including one drink each and some coffees. The main problem was the quality of the meat, four of us were left with large piles of fat on our plates at the end of the meal and a fifth had to ask to have his pork changed at the start of the meal as it was 50% fat. We were told that the lamb was leg, but it looked like undercooked, and hence very fat, shoulder. The pork was belly, and again was not slow cooked, so was very fatty as well. I had the 'Big Daddy' - extra everything, but I had a small portion of vegetables and the roast potatoes were overcooked and dry.. We asked for extra gravy, which was provided, but it was glutinous and tasteless, tasted as though it was made of Bisto. The restaurant was unable to provide gluten free gravy or Yorkshire for my daughter, so she had to do without, nor non-dairy milk for the coffee. Service otherwise was fine and the ambience OK, but the food was really very poor and exceptionally bad value. The best part of the meal was the horseradish sauce, no doubt out of a jar! Even the Gents, which was very basic and by no means clean had no loo roll holder, just a loo roll sat on the floor, . Well, we tried it once, but not again, and we're £150 worse off.

whilst i have reviewed this restaurant before, I am prompted to do so again after another wonderful meal there last night; in fact I had the best and most wonderful Osso Bucco I have ever had outside of Italy itself ! One can't do better than that for authentic Italian cuisine...
Please keep putting on your 'Specials' as these are bound to attract your more discerning Diners

The Imperial China Restaurant offers the most exquisite Chinese and Szechaun food and an extensive menu is offered both in the restaurant and as a take away. New Forest locals have come to accept the friendly, discreet service as the 'norm', but no-one visiting Imperial China fails to comment on the high quality of the food no matter how many times they have eaten there !
Visited for the first time with friends on Friday 23 February, the service was unexpected, almost Silver service in a Chinese restaurant something rarely encountered but so well enjoyed, Anyone not used to such service may feel a little intimidated but relax and enjoy it as it is a pleasure to have such great service and combined with the excellent food served at such reasonable cost in a tourist area I will certainly be returning....a rare find these days !!

Whether you’re arriving on two legs or four, we’ll have the perfect refreshment waiting – just something we’ve picked up from years serving ramblers, riders and regulars. Add quality food and ales to a beautiful Lyndhurst location and it’s clear pubs like this don’t grow on trees.
We booked a table with friends to plan our next weekend jaunt.
We arrived and were quickly shown to our table, the restaurant was very busy, which I consider a good sign of good food and service.
We ordered drinks, then our lunch.
Looking around the restaurant whilst waiting for our meals the standard of food looked amazing.
We ordered the Sirloin of beef and leg of lamb.
Both cuts of meat were cooked to perfection and the vegetables were cooked with a glaze which enchanted the taste.
The staff were very attentive at all times without being overbearing and we had a few laughs with the waiter.
If you’re looking for great food, you will not be disappointed here

Your hunt for the perfect pub ends in Lyndhurst, where the Fox & Hounds serves fantastic cask ales and delicious fresh food from an historic former coaching inn. Sink into a sofa by the fire or bask outside in our glorious sun-trap of a terrace; it’s our very own great outdoors.

It is in the New Forest
A group of six of us went in and on the face of it it looks a really nice place which it is.Pity it seemed just mine was not as good as it should have been.Ordered a bap which had been in the fridge cold and damp on pointing it out just warmed up and returned, sorry but bread was not at room temperature which it should have been.Just one other thing if you have dogs in which i am not bothered about dont stroke them and then carry on serving food.Pity because it seems such a nice place.

Local Produce Village Shop & Eatery, in the charming village of Minstead in the New Forest. Stocking a wide variety of New Forest Marque produce including wine, cheese, local gins, chutneys and craft products. Built in 1787, the original shop began life as an old bakery. Loaves were baked in the front room and dished out to locals from the window of the house onto the village green.
Excellent food, excellent coffee, great atmosphere, excellent and very interesting shop, very friendly and professional staff. Most highly recommended. We only discovered it on the last day of our holiday break unfortunately, otherwise we would certainly have called in every day.
