If you saw Chevy Chase's masterpiece European Vacation, you'll recognize Stonehenge's massive formation. (As a citizen of the world, you should recognize Stonehenge anyway.) The prehistoric stone circle is eight miles from Salisbury, and its visitors provide a boost to the local economy. With a history dating back over 5,000 years, there is no shortage of significant places to visit in and around Salisbury. On the "must see" list are Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat and Stourhead gardens (and Stonehenge, of course).

I loved the diversity of the menu. The only hard part is choosing whether to go for previous favourite or try something new. The service is always good - attentive but no intrusive. Every dish is excellent. I rarely have a pudding because I a full from the outstanding starters and main course. It is our go-to before or after the Salisbury Playhouse.

I was a bit concerned walking to the restaurant as it’s located on a street full of fried chicken and pizza takeaways, interspersed with the occasional charity shop, so not terribly glamourous.
Inside the furniture is all highly carved with animal motifs, and staff in beautiful thai dress. Service was very good.
I’ve never had real thai food before and really enjoyed the mixed starter and king prawn main. Unlike other asian-style meals I didn’t find the food overly sweet or oily. My partner was less impressed with his lamb dish which he said lacked marinade (I thought it was really tasty) but this is my review so I get final say!
Overall, really nice for casual meals although possibly a touch expensive (£50 for 2xstarter, 2xmain, 1x rice and 2x 330ml beer). I’ll certainly be trying other thai restaurants now I’ve given it a try.

Meal for 4 adults for my mothers 76th birthday. I can only have high praise for this fabulous establishment. All meals absolutely delicious and very well presented.
Attentive and helpful house staff team led by Claude. (Mother thought he was quite a "dish"......groan.)
You pay for what you get. What you get here is of the highest order. It therefore follows that the bill equals that. Worth every penny.

A 17th Century Coaching Inn at the Market Place in Wilton, an historic town of great charm, once the capital of Wessex. Nikki and Graeme offer you a warm welcome, wonderful food, cask ales, fine wines and a Coffee Lounge. Passing through on a lunchtime luckily we booked ahead. A really excellent lunch accompanied by a pint of Crop Circle. The perfect combination. Having studied the menu online I was not disappointed. An amazing venison escalope with wonderful trimmings. All 3 meals were excellently prepared and presented in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and we found a parking place! A really delightful lunch. Luckily the Pembroke Arm was closed for a function.

WE ARE OPEN 12 - 2 AND 6.00 TO 10.00 P.M. CLOSED SUNDAY EVENING AND ALL DAY MONDAY EXCEPT BANK HOLIDAYS. Fiona (landlady), Radish (the Jack Russell), Bean (the Hungarian Vizsla - work in progress puppy) and Frogspawn - (the Shetland driving pony), chef Pete and the rest of the team welcome you to the Hook and Glove in Farley. A friendly, happy little haven set in the beautiful village of Farley just 7 miles from Salisbury. We are a traditional, family and dog friendly free house with a log fire in the winter and a beautiful fully fenced garden in the summer. We also have two petanque terrains and space to tie up horses. There is a large car park at the rear and you are welcome to leave your car and wander off to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and the village. If you care to take a look at Trip Advisor (and I promise we did not submit these reviews ourselves!), You will see that Pete offers homecooked cuisine, imaginatively presented, using locally sourced ingredients to suit all tastes including Sunday roasts. Our pies are properly made with a top, a base and a side with varying fillings, for example, steak and kidney, wild boar, game pie, chicken and asparagus. We also offer a takeaway service. We also have regular deliveries of fresh food straight from Normandy so a good choice of French specialities, including snails and lobster bisque! The Hook and Glove is very close to beautiful Bentley Wood and the Clarendon Way and is an ideal stop off for walkers and cyclists to relax with a snack. The restaurant can be hired out for any special occasion including children's parties. The pub is in the process of an extensive overall maintenance and updating programme and so our virtual tour and the pictures of exterior and interior will be changing slightly over the coming months and we hope that when you visit us you are pleasantly surprised and that whilst trying to maintain that genuine "country pub" feel we are achieving some much needed improvements. We have two petanque terrains which can be booked free of charge, a tying post for horses and a child friendly back garden.
Stylish restaurant and separate bar. Terrace area for summers and a rear garden area with a Shetland pony called Frogspawn. Good parking.
Wonderfully interesting menu incl standards such as fish and chips and hunters pie with gastronomic others including lobster bisque, Malay beef rendang curry, confi of duck and stuffed ravioli with chestnut sauce but all at very reasonable prices and generous portions although smaller portions are available on request. Veggie dishes are on the menu but they do not guarantee they can provide gluten-free options. Free WiFi available. Good disabled access except for the small doorstep at front door.

A fine dining restaurant located upstairs above Costa coffee overlooking Salisbury's Historic Market Square.
This restaurant redefines excellence. My wife and I have eaten here as a couple, had friends and family 30 plus in number with us and all in between.
The food is exceptional with service and ambiance to match.
If traveling, through, visiting or living in the Southwest this restaurant is at the gateway, Salisbury.
If you are looking for cheap and cheerful you will be disappointed. Go to a chain. I though you you appreciate or have never tried your "last meal", eat here!

The Yew Tree Inn is a quintessential English Country Village Pub. Black and white timbered with a thatched roof and a heavily beamed interior that we all dream about. A genuine warm welcome awaits you from our professional team offering you great homemade food, a choice of fine wines and well kept Real Ales. The bar and restaurant are cozy and share a large inglenook fire. For those lazy summer days and long warm evenings we have a totally refurbished pretty beer garden for everybody to enjoy. The Yew Tree Inn, Odstock is under three miles away from Salisbury in a country village. Why not pop our post code into your GPS and pay us a visit ?
The review of Hillside B&B will show the reason for the Title
After 3 days of driving many hundreds of miles and restless nights it was a look forward relief when we got to Yew Tree--- .Carla (think that was her name) was a real fun person--'' replaced our thoughts of another sleepless night with her humour, vitality and service......(That deserves a pay rise for Carla).. Whilst we can't recall what we had; it was all excellent fare accompanied by great lager shandies.
It is worth travelling a few miles to partake of the YTI so if you are staying in the larger cities nearby...make the trip,

We would love to welcome you to our family-run restaurant and cafe and shisha garden conveniently located in the heart of Salisbury, just down the road from the rail station. Our mainly Turkish menu has something to suit everyone - with our new fast lunch-time deal which can have a taste of various countries foods for you to sample at your leisure to more refined a-la-carte dining with an Ottoman menu which is similar to modern-day Moroccan and Lebanese cuisines in spicing and the inclusion of dried fruits and nuts in many of the dishes. We wanted to create an opulent environment similar to the hotels and palaces of the Middle-East, but without the steep price-tag. For this reason you will find, despite the rich decor, an informal eating space that welcomes all age groups and caters for most tastes. You can just pop in and have a piece of baklava (rich, sticky pastry with walnuts) or enjoy the full experience with live belly dancing and traditional music (most Fridays and Saturdays). Our large Shisha Garden is open all year and we even have Bedouin tents for you to come and get away from it all in. We are unique and completely new concept in the dining-out experience - we will do all we can to make the best of your time with us - We are EASTERN CHILLOUT - enjoy the ride!
Seeing the positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and a Groupon voucher, myself and my partner thought we would give this place a go. MISTAKE. My aunt is Turkish and this food couldn't be further from the genuine article. Don't let this place put you off Turkish food, its fantastic, but not when its bland, microwaved and made myself and my partner ill.
There is a reason this place is highly reviewed, one that cannot bw published due to TA's guidance. We declined the restaurants attempts to leave honest feedback.
Do not fall for it and maybe they will learn they need to serve good food at good prices to compete with the many other restaurants in Salisbury doing just that.

Large varied menu with a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Casual dining without fuss.
Visited here for lunch and had a lovely meal. Both Roast Dinners and Meals from the menu were available. Generous starters and beautifully cooked vegetables with our mains. The food was of a high standard and good service was received. We will definitely return for another meal again. Lovely old restaurant with a log fire burning created a lovely atmosphere on a dull rainy Sunday.

Craft Bar at the Salisbury Arms: where bar meets pub meets cafe in a welcoming, informal and friendly social space. Our 'street food' garden kitchen cooks great value hand crafted burgers, made with fresh ingredients from local quality butchers and artisan bakers. We serve craft beer, burgers and cocktails, with skill, style and a smile. There is no need to book, but if you're a larger table (6+) please let us know and we can make sure we have a space available for you. Just 1 minute's walk from the market square, we are the back street bar you always hoped to find.
After our great visit last time we were hoping that we would have as good a time again however sadly it wasn't as good as we remembered. The food wasn't piping hot and the beer I wanted had run out (I know that isn't the fault of the pub but it is always frustrating when pins have to change their barrels over).
I'm hoping that this was a one off because the last visit was great. Will definitely come back to check!
