Nice and quite location next to registration for cycling race. The staff was nice. Here is possible to sit in comfortable chairs. The coffee was good and it was first time in Switzerland where I got water to coffee:-)

Went here for lunch with my family during a ski trip. Very disappointing experience. Unwelcoming and unfriendly staff. There are better much alternatives in the immediate area - for example Hexenkässel.

We had a very delicious light dinner here one evening during our stay in Meiringen. The food and service were very good and there is both indoor and outdoor Seating. Prices very typical of Switzerland.

We were 3 motorcyclists staying a 2 minute walk away where there was no food available. This was recommended to us by the accommodation owner and we were delighted with the outcome.
The view outside on the Terrace was particularly attractive and was interesting as we watched various motorcycles passing by. They are not intrusive and if you had no interest, could easily be ignored.
The food was excellent. We had a sharing plate of cold meats followed by entrecôte steak with mixed salads and chips. All washed down with a long beer. Perfect at the end of a long day touring the area.
The service was particularly good. The waitress, Ursi/Ursula, was very entertaining and had exceptionally good English with a good sense of humour.
They serve breakfast to their guests, but we're happy for us to book breakfast at the time of our choice.
If we were staying in the area again, we all agreed we would stay at the Landgasthof Tannler in future.
It was good value for what we got.

Met friends in Meiringen and needed a nice restaurant to catch up. We were made very welcome, despite arriving before the kitchens were open and they were very accommodating as one of our party required a special meal. We went for the Farmers Rosti which was devine and I would highly recommend this restaurant for its food, ambience and lovely staff.

Cozy inn in the Bernese chalet style. Rustic kitchen with local, seasonal specialties. Newly renovated rooms and apartments.
We had a group of 6 and had a lovely fondue dinner. However, we should have specified only one fondue pot as that was plenty for our group - they brought us 2 and we really only ate one. Authentic Swiss experience with friendly, attentive service.

Worth trying the huge "signature dish" meringue here. It's your classic local Swiss cafe- styling from the 70s but the history of the meringue gives it a nice feel. Adjoining bakery for all your healthy purchases!

I arrived late at night after having checked some restaurants which were already closed. The waiter (a indian student of a well-known hospitality management school) took the time and advised me well, although time was even short. The Peking duck I ordered was tasting good (the sauce makes the difference, I was told). Afterwards I was welcomed by the receptionist lady who was very interested in my well-being and took the time to chat. Though I already paid the bill (reasonable price) and closing was short, I was even offered a coffee, tea or Prosecco.
Cuisine is asian (chinese, vietnamese, thai), as well as the staff. Location on the main walk Promenade.
To be recommended.

The review I wrote of this last evening, was attributed to me under another name/identity. I.e. Somehow TripAdviser got hold of my other email address and classed this as another person. I don't know if TripAdviser will print this post, but if you look at the review under Bar F, below, that is my review!!

You know the food is good when the locals eat there. We have visited here several times over many years. The owners may not recognize us, but we know them, and we are welcomed. Whatever we order is always good, and there is a variety of fresh choices. It is located up the hill from town on the way to the mountain pass.
