Pretty extensive resort - well maintained. Nice nursery slopes but not great for progression to the more difficult runs so would suit absolute beginners or confident intermediates. Some of the lifts can get pretty busy, notably the Hornalm lift - also our favourite ski area. Slopes were pretty icy when we visited - consider riding the gondola from the mid station to the bottom.

Despite being such a prominent landmark in Alpbach village, it always surprises us how few people ever venture inside the church grounds let alone the church itself.
Find out how this little valley in Austria is closely linked to England - for nearly 1,000 years!
Exploring the cemetery will also provide some surprises for most. Alpbach has had a certain magic about it for centuries and has drawn many from all over the world - including Nobel prize winners.
Well worth spending some quiet time having a respectful look around.

Easy to get to from Alpbach by walking, bus or car. Quick and easy to use during the summer season (haven't used it during ski season so don't know how it copes with large crowds)

We booked ski lessons for our son, both in a group the first day and private lessons for 4 days, the school is very professional, we really loved Mike Meyers, he took our son in the pistes, kept him engaged and he really had fun and learned how to ski.

We visited this by chance but was amazed by a lovely conference centre in the middle of this gorgeous village opposite a great hotel. Would work very well for businesses who want to give their staff a conference.

(Path of Contemplation) This walk through the wood, along the stream and beyond, has stopping places when you can refresh your senses, hug a tree, revitalise your energy, relax...

This living museum is situated behind the church at Inneralpbach. It is only open on certain afternoons. We were given a tour by a very knowledgable, English-speaking chap.It was an interesting insight into the lives of the Austrian farmers a few hundred years ago and was full of the old tools, implements, furniture etc. Well worth the small entry fee.
