The aptly-named Surfers Paradise is just that—a haven for those who pay homage to the gods of the sea by attempting to become one with the waves. The beach here is a golden stretch of soft sand that provides the perfect ambiance for a day of catching waves, catching a Frisbee or just catching some rays. Refuel at one of Surfers Paradise's 150 restaurants and cafes, or hit a Northside day spa to soothe your surf-weary muscles and smooth your sun-kissed skin.

The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions. Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one. Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

If you will be there you have to go to the Q1 Tower. The View is so amazing, the weather was it too. You can see so far up to the north, south... in each direction. You are feeling so small if you see the huge View of Surfers Paradise and the Sunshine Coast

The City of Gold Coast and Disability Services Queensland joined forces to create the Gold Coast's first 'All Abilities Playground' at Kurrawa Pratten Park, Broadbeach. The park has proven extremely popular, providing an innovative, unique and entertaining play space for kids of all ages and abilities! The All Abilities Playground is one of our newest play spaces, featuring an accessible submarine, a mermaid, diver and fish, simulating the ocean environment. The kids will have a ball in this sea-themed playground, designed to cater to all ages and ability levels.
Kurrawa Pratten Park is wonderful for families, joggers , walkers & cyclists. There is bbq facilities & toilets. We were staying across the road so often walked through the park. There are also exercise machines set around. Parking is easy with good access. On Sunday there is a large market selling all sorts of interesting products & fresh produce.

A recent expo for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games necessitated my appearance a5 the GCC and EC .
One of the very large auditoriums was the venue.
Pre- arranged online Seating was organized well, so everyone knew which door to access for their seat. Seating all numbered alphabetically and numerically, so easy to find ones seat.
Large tiered Seating enabled everyone to get good views of Performances and a large TV screen also helped.
Trapezes swung from heights with performers adding to scenarios. Great lighting / sound sequencing.
This Convention Centre has good ( paid) parking underneath.
Public transport is right outside.
Excellent facilities for disabled, parents etc.
Small cafe / Coffee bar inside.
There are many other different rooms/ theatres for hire here, all would be very suitable I imagine depending on group size.
