Bermuda’s capital hosts hordes of cruise visitors in its harbor area, where two-story pastel buildings line the seafront. On certain summer nights, waterfront streets are closed to traffic and vendors and entertainers take their place for boisterous Harbour Nights parties. Stock up on Bacardi at the rum giant’s HQ or explore the mysteries of the sea at Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Hamilton presents some excellent golfing and shopping opportunities and is easy to explore on foot.

The most enduring and popular family restaurant on Bermuda. Bermudians and visitors flock to eat the delicious pizzas from the island's only wood burning pizza oven. A haven for young professionals on a budget, for groups seeking a fun and lively evening out this restaurant is often packed with people who love the familiarity of old Italian favourites, not just pizza and pasta but veal, fish. And if you cannot eat in, take-out is always an option.
We always dine here when in Bermuda either for lunch and/or dinner. The food is always consistently good. And since our last visit, they have redone their menu with challenging new choices. Their pizzas are always excellent and their new pasta choices, we think. Are an improvement from the old. I had a seafood pasta dish that was excellent. There is a good wine list available. Service is always friendly and efficient.

I was warned by two local taxi drivers and someone who worked for the police to be cautious in this area. I can only say after getting a taxi to explore the were all correct. The area is not the best.I would not recommend walking round there. However, the food was good but spoiled by the location.

Ascots is known for its outstanding cuisine, service and ambience, but also for its location and setting. You will find it at the Royal Palms one of the most beautiful small boutique hotel on the outskirt of the city of Hamilton. A little stroll around the garden and enter in a world of beauty and comfort. Ascots Bar Lounge and Patio awaits you with tantalizing pre meals cocktails, then be escorted into a modern but intimate environment where great food, friendly and professional service awaits you.
We had a nice dinner here, don't get me wrong. But as two people who love fine dining, and who have traveled the world around Michelin quality food, I can tell you that this restaurant did not meet the high standard the reviews seem to indicate. We were happy with our food, it was good - but not excellent. The service was good, but not great. And worse, we were left there stranded. Before we came, we asked whether taxis or buses were readily available. We were told no buses, but taxis certainly can be called and get there quickly. After dinner we requested a taxi, and they allegedly called one for us. We waited over 30 minutes and no taxi came. So we went back to them and asked whether they had called or could call again, but they said they already had called and we just had to wait - there was nothing else they could do. Our phones did not work there, so we couldn't call. And they did not let us use their phone. We waited over an hour - no taxi came. NO ONE cared. We had to WALK, in the DARK, through winding roads without a sidewalk, hoping to find a hotel - which we did (after 20 minutes). And at that hotel we were able to get a taxi. That experience was so dismissive, so crazy, so scary...I have no words. I cannot imagine an establishment, especially one that is not just a restaurant but a hotel as well, that would treat patrons like that. Needless to say, we will not return.

We had dinner at the wonderful Port O Call restaurant on Front St, just a 10 minute walk from the Hamilton Princess. Truthfully, we were not at all hungry due to the hor d'oeuvres and drinks we had had two hours earlier at the Princess but since we were on vacation we felt we should still eat dinner a fine Bermudian restaurant. Being that we really could have and maybe should have skipped dinner, Port O Call had to serve us something special if we were to enjoy it and that was exactly the case. We of course skipped any pre-dinner food and went straight to dinner, except for gin martini, which I also didn't need. My entree was their rack of lamb. Four thick chops were served which were perfectly done and so tasty that I can truly say that I never had any better in my life. My wife also very much enjoyed her swordfish which was a special of the evening.
There service was also excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. I must comment about prices at the top restaurants. So far, we have now gone to two of the top and most expensive establishments here. We have found prices to be no more than any other tourist destination in the U.S. and less than the major cities. The portions were also substantial. Also, no tax is added to the food prices which therefore must be included in the cost.
Don't miss Port O Call on your visit or you will regret it!

Very nice dinner enhanced by the superior attention to detail and care shown by our attendant Anca. Outstanding service. Very delicious home made gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce and duck breast entrée, excellent gelato assortment. Limoncello to close. Attendants made o e feel part of the family. Would return.

My husband and I had dinner here last week on the final night of our Bermuda stay and it was certainly a fitting end to our wonderful stay as it was the best meal we had on the island. While much of the dining scene on Bermuda is highly traditional and not very imaginative this is not the case here. Barracuda offers a very modern and creative take on their cuisine. Everything was delicious and service outstanding. The decor and ambiance is warm but nothing particularly memorable so just come here for the food and the dining pleasure. You won't be dissappointed.

it made a welcome change from the mostly American fare on the island. However, the crispy duck was already diced and prepared, served with chopped lettuce ( in my opinion was more of a filler that added to the taste) I was further disappointed that the chicken in my Pad Thai was not great meat.
Over all not a bad meal, but certainly not the best.

Hidden gem of a little restaurant, serving contemporary, fresh unique and inspiring cuisine.
We had dinner at Mad Hatters on a rainy night in Hamilton. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, not particularly easy to find, but it is a unique and enjoyable spot for dinner. The food was very good, service was also good, and the hats on the wall make it fun and festive. The only negative was the "loud talker" who sat next to us with two of his business colleagues. He talked about himself for 1.5 hours solid, very loudly, and we did not particularly enjoy hearing everything he said -- but that was not the restaurant's fault. We had a nice laugh with the server about it as we left.
Definitely worth a visit.

We visited Bolero on our last night on the island (Dec 28th) and it was an excellent meal, everything was of an exceptional standard, and the prices (for the island) are very reasonable. My starter was an apple and onion tart topped with brie.. sounds...MoreHello Ian L, We are very happy you really enjoyed Bolero! Thanks for your great comments above, and for your personal email to me. See you next time you are in Bermuda. Best wishes Jonny
