Where History Comes to Life - Stroll down the streets of our 1920s community. Period costumed townsfolk welcome visitors and give demonstrations in the homes, businesses and shops. Take a ride on the 1912 CW Parker Carousel, explore the restored 1912 Interurban Tram, and enjoy a treat in the Ice Cream Parlour.

A beautiful park just a twenty-minute drive away from downtown; offers scenic views, picnic areas and hiking trails.
My husband and I had our wedding location picked out before we got engaged. It was a whirlwind romance, plans to wed, proposal and wedding happened fast.He decided to propose to me at this garden at the exact spot we knew that we would be wed(in front of the alter). It was a gorgeous ceremony, full of love, smiles and of course roses.
It was on Canada Day and despite a little morning rain(which is said to be good luck) the weather was amazing.
We went here the day before our 1st anniversary(we were out of town the actual day of anniversary)

This scenic park has 8.5 kilometers of trails for biking and walking, as well as general recreational facilities.
Burnaby Central Park is a beautiful place to spend a few hours with nature while still being minutes from all of Burnaby’s amenities. My family and I really enjoyed our afternoon walking among giant trees, admiring ducks in the ponds and stopping at different play structures throughout the park.
The squirrels are the tamest I have ever come across and they will literally chase you down for a snack. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.
Sadly a young girl was killed in the park over the summer of July 2017 so there is a bit of a darkness associated with the park. My heart goes out to this girl and her family.

Went there with my spouse in a sunny fall day. We had amazing time, wandering around the lake and in the park. I intended to visit the nearby Historical village but unfortunately was closed. Loved the place and will definitely go there again if I have a chance to enjoy the natural beauty.

I forgot a coat when travelling and was bailed out by the Bay having some good options at decent prices. Other than that there weren’t a lot of good options at reasonable prices (that I saw at least).
Very convenient if you’re staying at the Hilton.

On a whim we stopped by one evening in August hoping to see the sunset . The parking area is on the south side of the train tracks and it's a short walk in to the park . There is a road you can use to unload whatever you will need on your visit and then park up in the lots . A few families were BBQing as we walked by . It all smelled so good !
We just came for a short walk and to explore a spot we hadn't been to for a long time . There were a lot of birds around , including a few heron . A nice little pier gave us an opportunity to see jellyfish floating by .
In August the sun set behind Mount Seymour . The sky wasn't very spectacular that evening , but there was a beautiful glow on the water that highlighted our visit . The restrooms were still clean at the end of the day . Certain areas did become a bit of an obstacle course with the goose poop , but overall it is a quiet , relaxing park.

When visiting family and staying close to the park, I enjoy making the round. It's about 10 kilometers and a great run. One side is more visited than the other, but you meet people all along. Lovely views, all that nature has to offer in the middle of the city. Highly recommend. Be aware that dogs are supposed to be leashed but only a few ever are; be aware that you may meet a bear or cougar. Have fun!

This center serves as a venue for both performance and teaching in the arts.
This is a lovely open, airy building that makes a perfect coffee stop if you’ve been walking around Deer Lake Park, visiting the Burnaby Art Gallery (a very short walk to the centre) or going to the Burnaby Village Museum (across the street). There’s a nice little coffee bar just inside the entrance that serves drinks, baked items and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Tables and chairs are adjacent, or you can head to the other end of the building where there’s a Seating area overlooking the park. Much of the art in the central portion is by Jack Shadbolt, a painter who spent the latter part of his life in Burnaby. Other areas of the building have rotating Exhibitions. There are two theatres in the centre, but it seems to be primarily a teaching facility, with studios for dance, music and art. Lucky Burnaby! Wish there was something similar where I live.

Confed Park as the locals call it has so much to offer it's hard not to enjoy yourself here. To name a few tennis, skatepark, dog park, track, bbq areas, water park, community pool with slide, gym and kids Fountains, library, lacrosse and soccer field. If that's not enough there a miniature train ride nearby.
