Easy to get to, central near Sainsburys. We regularly drop by and always find something fascinating in this beautifully restored Tudor house set in child friendly Gardens. The staff and vounteers are extremely helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. A joy for children as almost everything is very hands on, from sitting at enormous banquet table with wooden plates and pewter tankards to dressing up in chain mail or gowns. Go - just drop by for a quick wander or stay for a browse and cup of coffee. When we visited they also had a beautiful display of silk work in side room. Entry free

Join us for a unique, fun packed experience on one of the world’s most awesome High Ropes Adventure Courses, boasting 38 exciting obstacles. Amaze yourself as you take each of the challenges head on, from speedy zip wires, mid air jumps, knee wobbling tight ropes and much more. The outdoors has never been this much fun. No experience or skill is required, just a sense of adventure.
Booked this as a surprise for myself and my 64 year old mother who is usually somewhat of a daredevil. When the surprise was revealed she was quite nervous about whether she would be able to manage the course, Beth and Cam were so supportive, encouraging her to look at the course prior to putting on harnesses and giving her reassurance that they would be on hand to help her. It is solely down to them that she even attempted any of the obstacles, they explained everything so well and clearly for the group. Got mother on the course but she gradually turned more and more white so after obstacle number 3 we decided to save her blood pressure and call it quits. Beth and cam were so supportive of her, helping her back and trying to gently encourage her to try again. We didn't end up going back on or even completing the course but really feel they deserve a shout out for excellent customer service!

Visitors from all over the world are welcome to Old Trafford, and audio guides, souvenir guides and guided tours are available in a range of languages. We're committed to giving the same great experience to all visitors, so the tour of Old Trafford is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and the Museum has a lift to allow access to all 3 floors. Whether you're a Manchester United fan or not, a visit to Old Trafford stadium is a day to remember.
Although I'm not a fanatic fan of football, I do try to visit the stadiums home to famous football clubs around the country to since I'm already here.
The stadium is really massive. I joined the tour and it's well arranged and accommodates the group in an orderly manner.
There's no self-exploring in the stadium. Besides, you can get lost among the many doors.

I'm still buzzing from an amazing night at The Lowry. The company is made up of extraordinary talented dancers who work together to make an unforgettable night's entertainment. The audience was quite small - but more than made up for their size with the warmth of their reception. The dancers are athletic -gorgeous - musical, graceful and brave. A few stood out, but it's not that kind of company, they really are "collaborative". The programme was fascinating, the music well-chosen. It may have been altogether faultless as far as I was concerned. Why can't the Lowry generate a bigger audience for such an amazing troupe?

There is never a dull day at MediaCityUK. Atmosphere is central to the MediaCityUK ethos and with a host of cultural and sporting attractions, cinemas, world class events, shopping, an abundance of bars and restaurants and a diversity of people living and working here - atmosphere is certainly something that is never lacking. I went to see a Judge Rinder show being recorded. I was really impressed with the whole complex not realising how vast it was. Not knowing there were so many places to eat I had my evening meal in my hotel, the excellent Holiday Inn. I was very well looked after in the studios. chatted with fellow audience members between recordings and all were very friendly. Convenient Metro link to Piccadilly railway station.

We're right next to the Chill Factore indoor ski slope, opposite the Trafford Centre, and less than 4 miles from the city centre. Formerly known as Airkix and now part of the biggest brand in indoor Skydiving, iFLY Manchester is the place where thrills and big smiles are guaranteed. We welcome all ages from 3 to 103, and all abilities. That's right you really can live the dream of flight in a safe, but super fun way. Come along and find out for yourself.
Never been Skydiving in any format so this was a journey into the unexpected with my 13 year old son at Trafford Centre. It was all very relaxed and the instructor was excellent, precise but not overbearing. The group consisted of a mix of young...MoreThank you for your comments Keith. We are glad you and your son enjoyed flying with us. We hope to see you both again in the future. Kind Regards, Team iFLY

Welcome to The John Rylands Library, one of the world's finest collections of rare books and manuscripts. The John Rylands Library is part of The University of Manchester. Please note that we open at 12noon on Mondays and Sundays
The architecture of the library dates back to the 1890s and is really fascinating offering many interesting vistas for photography. There is obviously a vast collection of books too that are beautifully housed. The library also has Exhibitions from time to time on various subjects and I was lucky enough to see one on colour, illustrated with some wonderful books.
It's a gem of a place, but it isn't for everybody; certainly, young children would not be interested.
As a bonus, it's free too.

Salford Museum and Art Gallery was the UK’s ‘first free public library’, which opened in January 1850, followed in November by a museum and art gallery. The building was a mansion house known as Lark Hill, which had been built in the 1790s and has given its name to our famous Lark Hill Place; a Victorian street within the museum. Today, Salford Museum and Art Gallery presents an exciting programme of permanent displays and changing contemporary Exhibitions together with a range of events and activities guaranteed to inspire which completes a must visit experience for individuals, families, schools and organisations to come and enjoy. When you have visited the galleries why not pop into our cafe or purchase a souvenir in the museum shop. Our learning and outreach programme allows everyone to get involved with the museum - perhaps taking part in a Victorian washday, learning new crafts or reminiscing with our memory boxes. We offer free admission and welcome all children accompanied by a responsible adult.
Have visited the museum & art gallery many times over the years but my sister wanted to see the Tony Warren Exhibition as she knew him. Amazing to see the first ever televised episode of Coronation Street, that brought back so many memories as we used to live in Salford & knew families just like those portrayed in it! We learnt many interesting facts about Tony Warren, how he attended a school not far from where my sister now lives the same school she once had one of her foster children enrolled in! Lovely to see the fondness many of the actors in Coronation Street had for him & to learn more about Tony Warren the man.We then popped into the cafe & had two slices of delicious cake, pot of tea & a coffee at very reasonable prices,no wonder it was busy! Apparently you can book afternoon tea here so I am sure we will be trying
that out soon! My sister bought a reindeer decoration for my young nephew & there were plenty of other lovely items on sale.Staff throughout the museum etc are always friendly & helpful & we have often brought the foster children to many of the activities available for families. There is something for everyone here, come and visit!
