'THE Abingdon COLLECTION' is open by appointment only and offers a unique visitor experience in the beautiful rolling hills of Co. Tyrone. Divided into two distinct sections the first area covers classic cars, motorcycles, diecast models and enamel signs and every 'BIG BOY'S TOY' imaginable. Take a step back in time to the 1950's and remember when petrol was sold in gallons and you could still afford to buy it. The second part of the collection takes you back to the dark day's of World War Two and represents one of the largest private collections of militaria in the UK. Admission is free but contributions to Cancer Research are gratefully accepted. If you want a totally different day out with a history lesson included contact us now. Classic car and motorcycle clubs are very welcome and catering can be organised for visiting large groups. Admission by appointment only.
Bottomline first: If you are interested in any of these three categories, this is a "MUST DO!"
Philip is passionate about all 3 topics, and it reflects in his commentary while escorting visitors.
I tried to call in the a.m. and again at lunch, but he was out for personal business. So, we jumped in the rental and drove from outside of Enniskillen. We lucked out, as he had recently returned, and more than willing to open up to show us around. Some of the autos are 1997 BMW, 1978 Porsche 911, 1980 MG Roadster, a Mazda 50th anniversary MC5, and 1953 MG, and others.
Motorcycles include a Harley Davidson Dyna, 1971 Triumph, German WWII type, Russian built with sidecar, and 1993 Kawasaki "CHiPS". Lots of leather clothing and memorabilia as well.
We completed our tour with a special WWII room. So many authentic uniforms, weapons (deactivated), sabers, bayonets, helmets, medals, from various participating countries with emphasis on one.
With much gratitude from your Colorado and Texas visitors, thank you Philip (and beagle Harley). We wish you success on a book or screenplay!
Future visitors: No set hours and no admission charge. Please contribute to his cause for Cancer Research!

Experience the adventure that takes you from the thatched cottages of Ulster, on board a full scale emigrant sailing ship, to the log cabins of the American Frontier. Immerse yourself in three centuries of Irish emigration at the museum that brings it to life. Meet costumed characters on your way with traditional crafts to show, tales to tell and food to share.
Myself, my mother and my three children attended one of the days of Christmas past events. It was fabulous. Enjoyed by my 1 and 3 year olds and my 8 year old too which is a hard thing to find.
There was alot of interaction, the good old Christmas stuff we all love and some things a little out of the ordinary.
I will be recommending this event in future.
Very well done!

I'm visiting from England and fully expected this place to have basic facilities at the least, and hopefully a visitor centre and cafe. We pulled in to the large tarmac carpark which looked promising but soon realised that there is nothing there. Yes the scenery is stunning but with no visitor centre there are no maps of the walks/routes to take so we didnt want to explore (Although i did think afterwards I could have taken a photo of the large map in the carpark on my phone and referred to that) There was only an abandoned building. I decided not to explore the toilets! We drove the scenic route though which was very enjoyable on this rainy day and we stopped to pick up a couple of geocaches so we did gain something from our visit.

There is a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere down on the farm as visitors have the freedom to meet and pet many rare-breed animals. There is also the opportunity to fed the animals. It is both a fun and educational day out for the whole family and a great opportunity to interact with both farm and exotic animals
Visited last week with my 2 daughters during Easter school holidays. This is quite an exceptional place, great variety of animals, from tiny to big. It's actually much more than a farm, there are several play areas for kids, indoor and out. It's very safe as the only way in or out is through the main entrance and i was amazed at how clean the place was, everywhere spotless.
When the lad working saw my daughters fascination with the rabbits he brought one out for her to hold. This simple touch made her day & she still chats about it a week later.
There's a very clean & tidy restaurant section which was quite busy. However we brought a picnic & were able to eat it on the tables outside.
There's also a complimentary spin on a tractor which my girls thoroughly enjoyed.
The ladies working were also very friendly, gave my girls a packet of smarties each when we were leaving. Again, a very nice touch.
Clean, tidy, well staffed & great value. We'll be back soon!

I found this experience very humbling and moving. It made me realize how blessed we are to still be here to see this. The garden is beautifully kept. Definitely worth a visit

I was encouraged by Jennifer at the Tourist Information Office in Omagh (Thanks Jennifer) to go to one of the organised sessions or ‘Seisiún’ at Dun Uladh regional cultural centre just outside Omagh. I was sceptical of an organised session, as they can be very sanitised and false.
This was definitely not the case with this Seisiun, it was brilliant!! Part of this was due to the fact that most of those taking part were award winning in their field and together they provided the very best music from across Ireland. Dun Uladh provides a great venue for a unique traditional entertainment experience during July and August. Though it is a staged show of Irish music, song and dance, it is well run and has more than a touch of the Irish humour provided by Martin Donohoe as MC, a renowned button accordion player in his own right. .
Martin really helped the evening be more relaxed and maintain an informal feel to it. Some of the musicians appearing belonged to the Knockmore Ceili Band, 2014 All Ireland Senior Ceili Band Champions. There was a range of ages performing, from young children to adults, all to a very high standard.
Dun Ulladh is a lovely venue which can be presented in caberet or theatre style, has a balcony, so everything can be eaasily viewed. It also has a bar which is very reasonably priced. Altogether, a great night. Check out dates and times either at their website www.dunuladh.ie or through the Northern Ireland Tourist Information, you won’t be disappointed!!
