I recently enjoyed a very tasty Sunday lunch at The Greyhound. Lovely veggie option (Pumpkin and Blue cheese pie) with all the typical roast dinner accompaniments. Desert choice and quality very nice too. A really great place for good food with friends and family. Would recommend booking in advance.

Went for big family lunchtime party (40+ people) and had a great time. We had a set meal and the food was really tasty and well presented. We weren't rushed so had time to enjoy the food, the drink and the atmosphere. Well worth a return visit.

No real complaints and didn't want to raise the issue at the time which might have taken the edge off the evening, but I have a query. My meal was a vegetarian roast which was said to come with "vegetarian roast potatoes". The roast potatoes were the main attraction for me and I was looking forward to some really crunchy ones. However when the meal arrived the potatoes were small half potatoes in their skins - and no trace of having been roasted. Had you run out of the real thing or was this a mistake? Vegetarian roast pototoes only need to be cooked in oil rather than animal fat so shouldn't be a problem - small boiled potatoes in their skins are not the same thing. Otherwise the group enjoyed the meal and the staff were prompt and helpful.

Have visited here on many occasions and have had the 7 course tasting menu four times with different friends and family and have not been disappointed yet. The flavours are spiced with an intricate deliciousness of heat and flavour and everyone who has accompanied us have been impressed

With soaring eaves in the Great Hall and Minstrel's Gallery, a roaring log fire in winter and pretty Terrace bursting with flowers and aromatic herbs in summer, The White Hart is not only cosily beautiful but offers a warm, village welcome too. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen grows much of the restaurant's fruit and vegetables in a large kitchen garden and also sources food from the very best local suppliers. Even bread, pasta and ice cream is homemade fresh on site. Frequently changing, the menus rely purely on what is fresh and available, ensuring food which delivers on every level. No wonder they hold 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence!

Well, we've been here several times and the reall truth is that the food quality and service are always consistently good, OK - if it's a manic friday or saturday night they can't magic more staff or double the kitchen capacity so be fair....
To sum up, good, no really good food, and consistenly friendly.

Visited before going to the cinema, as a friend had highlighted their improved (and dedicated) gluten free menu. My friend went for the halloumi fries followed by the classic burger (both choices got a )
I chose the baked Camembert (supposedly to share) followed by the pollo piccante & chorizo pizza. Both were really good- loads of bread for dipping in the Camembert (you never get enough usually!), which was very garlicky (be warned!). The pizza was lovely too, and really great to have lots of options. (See photos). Lovely decor, and quick service (albeit it was early evening so we were one of the only ones in the restaurant at the time!). Will definitely be back!

A convenient spot if in the centre of town. It has outdoor Seating and a very quaint inside part. Actually don't recall the food we had, but did note that it was good. We also had cream tea - scones, clotted cream, etc. While it was tasty, it was the only place in England that didn't have clotted cream, or it failed - looked like just thick cream. Nonetheless, it was very good. The portion sizes were very good. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
