The domed neo-Gothic structre was inspired by the British House of Parliament and serves as both a vibrant government center and a proud city landmark on the banks of the Danube.
The Hungarian Parliament was built to rival the architecture of Westminster, and it certainly does. It's a lovely building and absolutely wonderful lit up at night and viewed from the Danube.
We booked the official Hungarian Parliament guided tour in English, from their website which was very good. It was available in several languages and was much cheaper than the others, with discounts for students from 6 - 24. Our tour guide was a very nice lady and it was very informative and humorous at times.
When we arrived at the side entrance, there was a small, military ceremony for tourists I think and photo ops which lots of small children enjoyed. When exiting after the tour you pass through a very good quality gift shop which has something for all ages and budgets.

My wife and I went on the guided tour, and it was excellent! So many details about life in such a castle. The exhibits and rooms are a combination of beautiful reconstruction and modern installations illustrating life in ages past. Very engaging! We spent about 2 hours in the castle, but if we had had the time we could easily have spent at least one more. There are so many interactive elements that provide information. Very highly reccomend.

The zoo is reeeeally big, take your comfortable shoes! I loved the fact that animals have huge spaces. There are so many things to do and so many animals to see i'd say one day is not even enough. Great place for families, children absolutely adore this zoo.
The zoo's social media channels are very good, if you want to check out the place online first you should go to instagram or facebook and you'll see how amazing this place is. Their website is also great.
When I was a child and lived in Sosto, we used to go there once in every year and we saw exactly the same things in every year. Now, whenever I go back, it is amazing to see all of the new things and animals, it is like they are constantly developing the place.
Highly recommend

This is a very beautiful place to visit with the wonderful chateau and Gardens with the Waterfalls and stunning vistas. There is also the "mountain" and Forests with the abundance of wildlife, the lake where you can hire a boats and take a leisurely row around whilst taking in the awesome sights from the lake. Alternatively there is a train which travels in three directions giving a much less tiring aspect of the sights and to finish off your day, a really tasty meal in the hotel restaurant, which is no where as expensive as you would expect again with large portion sizes and excellent value for money, but just be aware of the return bus times if you have travelled by public transport.

Zoo Veszprem is situated just 15 km from Lake Balaton, and it is the most favoured destination of tourists in the Central Transdanubian Region. The Zoo, which located in a beautiful environment awaits visitors every day of the year, including weekends and holidays. Beside seeing interesting animals, spectacular feeding actions, petting pens and organised events make the offer of the Zoo more colourful. Let’s explore the wonderful world of the animals!
Tickets are still expensive (compering with the prices in Hungary), but the service definitely improved a lot comparing to my previous visit. Above the regular animals (giraffe, lion, monkey, rabbit, bear, zebra, camel) several novelty can be seen (e.g.: Dino park). Animals are living in the zoo, like in their natural environment in the new part of the Zoo. No smell, amazingly organized area.

As we drove from Budapest to Slovenia, decided to take a detour to see the lake & so happy we did as it is beautiful. The colour is lovely, and it is large allowing for a lot of activities slong the shore & by boat.
Numerous accommodation spots along the coast from camping to hotels, various food options from takeaway to dine in, & hire options including boats & bikes.
A popular holiday & cycling option. Lovely! We could easily go back & spend a few days relaxing.

Zsolnay Porcelain is very special. It is heavier than Herend but more robust and inventive, The Fountain given to Pécs by the Zsolnay family has statues of Oxen with a beautiful shiny metallic glaze. This glaze can also be seen on pieces in the museum. A must see in Pécs.

The good people of Hévíz obviously like the colorful churches. After a green one, now I have seen a blue one. The modern church with seven towers is very impressive rather look like a Cathedral than a church of a little country town.
It's a new building, was erected in 1999 and consecrated in 2007
What that is mostly taking in the interior is the wooden cover of the ceiling, which lends some warm, cozy feeling to the church. These wooden panels are also providing an excellent acoustic, that make possible to perform Concerts in the church.

As part of a day tour of the Balaton lake area we took in the great old capital town of Szekesfehervar. Knowing my interest in Castles our driver (we hired a car and you need one to access it) drove us to Bory Castle. However, it turned out to be a modern fairytale place with a dragon as a keeper. We lasted about 5 minutes before we walked out.
