Grasmere is a village and tourist destination in the centre of the English Lake District. It takes its name from the adjacent lake, and has associations with the Lake Poets. The poet William Wordsworth, who lived in Grasmere for 14 years, described it as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found."

The Jumble Room in Grasmere is now in its 20th year and from very humble beginnings their ethos has remained the same...Take the very best local and where possible organic ingredients and cook them with love and care.. Our small colourful little restaurant in Grasmere has become internationally renowned, not for pomp and circumstance but for a place to relax and forget our mad and hectic lifestyles...to escape....switch off... if only for a little while.... and leave with the light glowing a little brighter! It is said of the jumble room that it has soul, a small bohemian style restaurant, casual, honest, restorative and uncompromising in the pursuit of quality Prepared with love and served with pride!

The Wordsworth Hotel and Spa in Grasmere is a luxurious and historic Lakes District Hotel that has hosted royalty, American presidents and world famous artists and poets. With its spectacular views out across the village of Grasmere and its access to the beautiful walks within the Lake District National Park this is a fantastic weekend escape, and the hotels Signature Restaurant provides a two AA rosette worthy British menu. This restaurant has a cosy neutral dcor with lashings of taupe and burgundy, and the family-run nature of this establishment ensures friendly service. Highlights from the menu include the breast of Scottish Guinea fowl pot-roasted with broad beans and pancetta served with saffron potatoes, broccoli and red cabbage.
My husband and I visited the signature restaurant for our anniversary meal whilst staying at the Wordsworth hotel. We enjoyed the experience from our pre dinner drinks and canapés to our sharing desert for two. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Staff were attentive and we had a lovely experience.

We had potted shrimp and mozzarella garlic bread as starters, followed by lamb and fillet steak both with gratin dauphinois. All delicious. Also highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and the Baileys cheesecake! Best meal on our holiday! Very friendly owners and superb service, a must to try.

A lovely and comfortable environment but not quite up to expectations. All credit to the one front of house girl and only member of staff visible all evening..very attentive and polite but perhaps deserves some support and training especially if the establishment is aspiring to higher levels. Whilst not claiming to be an expert, the first 10 minutes of a dining experience should be about setting the bar for what is to come so a glass of flat champagne and average canapés is a bit disappointing. The small restaurant area was empty but probably because we were dining early. The problem was that the kitchen was quiet and rushed out the dishes which meant our meal was over in almost an hour. Food in general was of a decent standard but still falls short of getting to the next level and if we had gone for the taster menu then probably would have been disappointed with price over quality. Venison was cooked well and the chocolate dessert went down well. Not bad at all but probably won't visit again as have had better in other local venues.

Had a Friday evening meal there. All OK and good that they serve real ales, although the price of these seemed very expensive.

Friendly local cafe and bistro specialising in home cooked meals and home baked cakes. Wide range of special diets catered for including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan and meat lovers too!
Popped in for coffee and ended up ordering Soup as well, and was very impressed. There was a choice of two homemade soups I had the leek and potato which was absolutely delicious served with a lovely warm roll.
I’m so pleased we popped in, they have an extensive menu and some lovely cakes too.

We called in for an afternoon snack and were very impressed. It was a cold drizzly day and the log burner matched the warmth of the staff. I had the lemon curd scone with fresh cream and my daughter tried the orange drizzle cake. Both are recommended. We'll definitely call in again next time we are over this way.

A charming, fully licensed cafe in the heart of the picturesque village of Grasmere. All ingredients are locally sourced and our delicious homemade cakes are a speciality. We sell over 40 marmalade flavours and stock a great selection of locally brewed ales. A warm welcome awaits.
After a long and muddy walk, we stopped at Heidi's for some much needed sustenance. We were accompanied by our lively , one year old labradoodle who received the most wonderful welcome. After making a great fuss of her, a towel was produced for her...MoreThanks Martin G for your kind comments - we would love to welcome you all back. Happy New Year! x

We stayed at the hotel for four nights, eating in the restaurant each evening. The food was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed all our meals and are looking forward to returning soon, despite the 350 miles distance we shall need to travel!

This is already listed as an Inn/B&B but I want to write a review for the food only, as I just had a meal there.
Came with my parents and partner. It’s been 2 years since I was last here and they’ve updated it once again with a new staircase and corridor, really impressive. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious bathrooms modern and great breakfast. The staff are really great as always. It’s just a short walk into the centre of Grasmere.
I will definitely be coming again
