We made a 20-minute stop here after our tour of Mount Etna and it wasn't a waste of time. We were able to sample all varieties and combinations of honey. There is also a demonstration of honey production that we did not attend. Products were available for purchase at reasonable prices.

This place is located just along the road that leads to the Etna base. This place is unique as one is passed through the whole history of Sicily via miniature sculpture of the most important monuments of the island. The guide was fantastic! Definitely recommend...MoreGrazie di cuore! A presto!

From morning until late night the streets of zafferena fill with vendors every Sunday in October. I most enjoyed the craftspeople doing pottery, basket weaving, etc.

We read very good reviews on this venue and were looking forward to a great outing. We phoned up the Beekeeper's House Museum a few days ago to make sure that the venue was open to the public and to obtain general information. The person on the phone provided us with useful travel details and advice. The Museum is well sign posted and there is plenty of free parking on the road. We took an appointment for today at 11:00ish. We travelled from Messina to Zafferana Etnea (just over 100Km) and pulled the bell at the beekeeper's gate at 11:20 to find that the beekeeper was, in fact, tending to his "campagna'. We were told that the beekeeper would return at 17:00. The lady who answered from an upstairs balcony said that she could not call the beekeeper to tell him that we arrived and awaiting for him.... Sadly, we returned home with great disappointment in our heart. So, be aware; the beekeeper is someone who is either "forgetful" or ...well. You can draw your conclusions!!!!

Within the Parco Comunale there is a wonderful little museum, the Museo degli Antichi Mestieri. It is privately owned and is open Saturday and Sunday 9.30 to 12.30. It costs €2.50 and this includes a guided tour by the owner, a real enthusiast and collector. He doesn't speak a lot of English but that is not really a problem. He knows a bit and can communicate by gesture and his fascination for his collection. There are several rooms and each wall or corner has a theme. Some relate to old skills of the area with lots of equipment to see. Others relate to activities such as school, leisure, advertising etc.. There must be hundreds of toys and a lot of them work - they would do well on the Antiques Roadshow. Did you know that Fiat used to make fridges? This was definitely the highlight of our visit to Zafferana.

We were in Zafferana on 2 different days, the first a Sunday during a festival that drew thousands, or so it seemed. So we saw very little. We went back a few days later and walked around the town, seeing the sights. Really enjoyed that visit.

il planetario di Zafferana etnea si trova vicino la piazza della chiesa madre ed è il planetario più grande della Sicilia nonostante si trovi in un paesino. All'interno ci sono molte poltrone.

One of those spelndid local churches that make Sicily special. Worth a visit if staying in or passing through Zafferana.
