Well we won’t be back. Went there last night after the last visit had been disappointing but we’d used our £20 dining reward cheque, and last night just topped it off. In past reviews I think I’ve commented on the worsening service, and sadly the decline continues. The table was dimly lit, and although there was the usual nightlight welcoming us, I had to ask for this to be actually lit. We weren’t offered any sides, and the garlic mushrooms were off the menu; they must have run out of focaccia so we opted for the chef’s special which was breaded mushrooms deep fried with garlic dip and a clump of rocket. Very special indeed. Not. I followed with a normally safe option, tagliatelle carbonara, but this one had the texture of thin wallpaper paste for the sauce, and probably a similar taste; bland and unseasoned. Mrs B’s seafood tagliatelle was similarly disappointing, tasted like watered down tomato soup with no seasoning of any kind, no garlic or chilli as was promised on the menu. We didn’t bother to complain- if the food isn’t right first time, it just warrants a review like this, with the decision not to return, which saddens me greatly because it’s been our favourite local for literally decades. The food’s normally good and it’s only the service that normally spoils the experience, but last night’s visit seems to indicate a conspiracy by the staff to close Fiume down. Shame.

Our new extension has now been open for 7 months and if you've not yet experienced our dinning area then pop down to enjoy some great food and excellent service from all our friendly staff.
Been a while since we ate here. Service is excellent quick and friendly. Food is very nice just wish they would change the menu it's been the same for a long time. Didn't notice if the specials board was still on.

Thanks once again to TripAdvisor for another great find whilst I work away! Had a very nice starter but this was totally surpassed by the MASSIVE main meal of a Thali ....... absolutely top drawer!

The Imperial in Gateshead offers diners a chance to experience authentic Cantonese dishes without the fine dining price tag. Located on Durham Road, we are accessible to all. With our Oriental interior and authentic recipes, diners will be transported to a mini China in the heart of the North East.
Excellent Dim-Sum starter (sorry about the title pun, couldn't resist!) I was warned by waiter that it took 15 minutes, but that just showed it was freshly steamed, so happy to wait. Chicken with Ginger and Spring onion, was excellent and a really decent portion. (I am 6' and generally hungry). Service excellent, restaurant was quiet as we ate at 6:30, but filled up quickly later. My colleague had aromatic duck and special curry, which he said was as good as he has had anywhere in his 60 years. £40 for dinner for 2 with a couple of beers, cracking value for cracking food!

Veneto Cicchetti is a restaurant bringing a fresh and new concept of Italian tapas to the heart of Washington. We serve the best Italian dishes and finest Italian wines. We love parties at Veneto Cicchetti and we believe our Italian tapas dining experience is something best shared. We have 80 seats and a fully air conditioned restaurant. We look forward to seeing you.
Smashing settings, a very clean restaurant, very nice choice on the menu, I believe it is changing its name and menu next week, 18th July it becomes Ciccitchi I think, plus new menu.
One down side was our group of five found it extremely annoying to have the music so loud, also playing pop songs is not really conducive to an Italian Restaurant. Spoil tour conversations.

Sister Restaurant To Sangreela Restaurant
Have called here many times for takeaway food and the food has always been very, good finally dined here and was very impressed. The dining rooms (up and downstairs) are small but everything is perfectly presented with decor polished and gleaming and very professional staff. The wine arrived in an ice bucket with napkined neck and was nicely chilled but the star of the show is the food, rice the best we have ever tasted, chicken and prawns (real prawns) perfectly cooked in delicious sauces.
All in all a great little Indian restaurant, one minor point:- dim the lights it's a little bright.

Previously known as "Italia Retro Restaurant at The Board Inn"
I nearly drove past this place. It looks like a run-down pub from the outside, with a painted sign on the wall opposite the car park directing you that the restaurant entrance is out back.
It isn't.
You walk in through the pub entrance, to be greeted by a dark old-fashioned and neglected small pub.
The nice waitress then directed me to walk through to the back. This isn't signposted very well, and you think you are walking through to the toilets, but then emerge into the restaurant.
This is a completely different room, and a completely different atmosphere and is really nice.
[If the owners read this - please sort out the 'arrival' of customers. Just ditch off the pub, or make a separate entrance at the back. Make the most of the fact that you have a great little restaurant].
The staff was attentive, and the food prompt and well-cooked.
I had the melanzana (which was delicious), and the steak with tagliatelle and mushrooms which again was really nice.
If you are passing, then look this place up. It's well worth a stop.

Saturday night takeaway , not the Ant n Dec type .... after a day out for drinks , return for your favourite Chinese takeaway and find they are closed
So the substitute comes in , with much recommendations from everyone and even the taxi driver on the way home to
Well , it’s served as a purpose to me , ordered chicken curry n canton sweet n sour chicken/prawns .... plus bits
I won’t go on , but feel let down by a real lack of the following , chicken n prawns
I’ve not been a big lover of a sweet n sour onions or peppers , pure overload ..
So in my eyes expensive for what we didn’t get , best to stick to what you know which is treasure express
Mind the prawn crackers were good , taste was ok to , just the real lack of some substance ....

The Grey Horse pub Old Penshaw Village. A traditional village pub with a real open log fire for the winter months and loads of character.Serving excellent home cooked food.
First of all the pub and restaurant are separate business’s but bounce off each other. It seems to work!
We drank in the pub which has a lively but lovely friendly atmosphere. Fab selection of gin, shame they don’t do real ale on hand pull. The staff are friendly and efficient.
We understand the people in the restaurant havnt been in long. They are friendly, offer great service, most of the food is home cooked, fabulous portions and good value.
The Lou Lou burger is enormous! Must of been 1/2 of homemade burger in there, a whole chicken breast...homemade slaw & onion rings.
Our only criticisms are - the stuff you clean the tables with is leaving them sticky even though they are clean, because we watched!
Also the chips weren’t home made change that and you’ll be near on perfect!
Finally possibly a little more seasoning in some of the cooking. (But that is personal choice)
The fish and steak deals looked fabulous. We are looking forward to going back with guests soon.
