Encircled by a forest of fragrant pine trees, the mountain village of Pontresina is an idyllic alpine retreat. Hike to the mammoth Morteratsch glacier or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through pristine Roseg Valley. Learn about ancient cheesemaking practices (and sample the delicious results) at the nearby Alpine Dairy of Morteratsch. After a tiring day on the Mountains of Snt Moritz,we have decided to order and take away 3 different pizzas:margerita, greek style and roca grana padano. All the 3 were delicious,it felt like eating in Italy.
I would certainly like to try the other meals of the menu.

Our gourmet restaurant Kronenstübli, which has been awarded 16 Gault Millau points, is well-favoured among Epicureans. In this Swiss pine parlour, we serve masterpieces of Italian-Mediterranean and French cooking. The chef’s specialty is Canard à la Presse.
This was our third visit at the Kronenstubli. As always, we had dinner in a refined and relaxing atmosphere, transmitting the charming character of this lovely alpine area. The menu reflected the flavours of the season, showing a careful balance between traditional Engadin dishes and more international choices. Given that it was our third visit, we were positively surprised to have the opportunity of tasting again something new. All the dishes were excellent, as well as their presentation - the lobster soup was no doubt one of the highlights of the evening! Service met the highest standards and we did really appreciate the caring - but at the same time always discrete - attitude of all staff. Overall it was definitely a great experience and we would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Engadin.

You could come by car or on foot - or even on cross-country skis in the winter but with insufficient snow that latter was impossible, so we took the Rhätische Bahn, which stops outside. First to the glacier - or what's left of it. The sorrowful posts at the side of the path show how far it has retreated. We first knew it when it stretched at least 500m further down the valley.
Then to a simple lunch. This popular hotel/restaurant is Swiss modern with plenty of wood, stone and so on. Waitresses in "traditional" costume. Panini and soup very well presented at prices which are somewhat on the high side even for Switzerland. The bottled Morteratsch beer was not a good example of the brewer's art, though well done whoever for trying to break the Swiss brewing oligopoly.

Restorant Uondas Home aged Engadine “madüra” meat from the lava stone grill, homemade “Flammekuchen” from the wood fired stove, genuine Grison pasta dishes and the vanilla soft ice cream, prepared with our secret recipe, create culinary waves.
We went to Restaurant Uondas for a special occasion meal. The waitress did a great job of explaining the dishes with the local produce on offer including the amazing aged meat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It's a treat eat, not a family value option. (Our 13 year old didn't appreciate it as much as we did.)

With few restaurants open we were thrilled to find this restaurant on a Monday night in May. The delightful waitress translated the German menu into English and assisted us with our meal and wine choice. Our meal was delicious and the accompanying vegetables cooked well....MoreThank your for your flowers. I am pleased to give your compliments to the waitress and kichen staff. Hope to see you again. Kind regards. Alexander Pampel

The Pitschna Scena is the vibrant meeting point for a colourful mixture of people. The rusty bar counter in the centre of the character-crammed locale was created by well-known Swiss artist Luginbühl. The place where hotel guests and local people get together for Scena burgers, tagliata or Alpine macaroni. The relaxed atmosphere in the rustic locale is an invitation to lean back and linger. The regular Thursday Concerts with blues, rock, pop, funk and jazz ensure a party mood and are famous far beyond the valley.
Menu is a mix of burgers (including a very good pulled pork sandwich), regional dishes, pasta and a few Asian dishes. Several rooms, quaint and cozy, young service team that are friendly and welcoming. Prices are high (compared to neighbouring countries) as everywhere in Switzerland, but reasonable for the region.

Were looking for a new place to have our family Eastern lunch. Were welcome at the Berninahaus, also our Jack Russel. Excellent Food, they had a Cordon Bleu Festival and very friendly service with a warm atmosphere in this stylish berghaus. An excellent atmosphere, we will certainly return.

When you're the only person in the place who doesn't speak German, you know this is not a tourist place. The food was great. The service top notch.

The funicular railway ride up at the lower cost rate after 6 in the evening ( 15 SFr return ) started an evening dinner to remember . The highlight was the magnificent views over the Upper Engadine lakes and Mountains . The restaurant had reserved a lovely view facing table for our group of 6 . The food was excellent , from anise bouche to starters to mains , with a comprehensive wine list and sweets to turn the head . the service was efficient , especially the friendly lady to who greeted us and kept an eye on how we were doing all evening . Overall this was outstanding in every way . However it will not be a regular visit for us because of the price which is at the higher end of ( expensive ) Swiss restaurant prices ( with little wine around SFr 80 pp ) . For a special treat this comes highly recommended . Don't go in cloudy weather though as the view is a main attraction .

Kochendörfer's has been awarded the "Golden Fish" and offers something for everyone. In the afternoon, we serve coffee and cake, while in the evening and at lunchtime you can enjoy delicious, market-fresh dishes from our kitchen.
We had our annual "house" diner at this "modern" decorated restaurant. We were served with utmost attention to details the quality of the dishes were very good, large salads, two servings of the Sole dish. We enjoyed our dinner and can recommend this restaurant for your next visit
