Miniatur Wunderland is the world’s largest model train exhibit, and still growing. See trains running through recreations of Hamburg and the coast, Austria, the Grand Canyon and Scandinavia.
A fascinating miniature world, created with so much finesse, attention to detail, wittiness, and good for an unforeseeable surprise. It is an attraction for young and old, for families, dates, or spare some time by yourself. Take some time and dive into this world and soak in the adventures of the miniature people in a shrunken world.

Europa-Park is closed until November 24. In the heart of Europe, between the Black Forest and the Vosges, lies one of the world's most beautiful theme parks. More than 5 million people from all over the world visit the park each season to enjoy the excitement offered by more than one hundred attractions and shows. The innovative European theme concept; one of the largest hotel resorts in Europe; the various decorations for each season; and the large number of diverse and colorful events make Europa-Park a one-of-a-kind getaway destination all year long.
We came at the start of the Easter school vacations. Mid-week, bad weather forecast (that only partly materialised). The place was maybe 20% full. There was zero queueing. Zero. Seeing how far we had to walk through queueing pens, I can only imagine what July is like. We focussed on the 'big rides' and did 17 in 6 hours. I couldn't take much more.
The whole place is beautifully themed, and immaculately clean. I did not love Disneyland, but I loved Europa Park.

Very popular scenic park, more internaitonal than its name would suggest, it contains a Greek temple, Chinese pagoda and Japanese tea house.
English Garden has so many nice - and various - sights and atmospheres. You need hours to grab them all and every time the experience is different. The sights are: the surfers´Eisbachwelle in the South, the temple-like round pavillon Monopteros on a steep hill, the impressive wooden tower Chinesischer Turm with restaurant and large beer garden and the classic style Seehaus, restaurant and beer garden at the small Kleinhesseloher See. These sights are scattered beween large lawns and massive trees, traced by curved ways and a small rivet with mossed rocks and small Bridges. The English Garden extends to the North far beyond the city limits and gets less groomed and more natural, partly nearly wild.

This giant Gothic Cathedral, which until its completion in 1880 had been under construction for over 500 years, is perhaps Germany's most famous religious structure and includes two huge towers that serve as the defining symbol of Cologne's skyline.
To be honest I am not religious in any way, but even so I can't help but admire the planning and work that went into this superb building over hundreds of years. Externally it is one of the most impressive buildings in the world, but internally it is even more impressive. Well worth a visit.

Yet another of the eccentric King Ludwig II's magnificently odd architectural creations.
Had the privilege of visiting this castle a few weeks back. A truly incredible experience, with architectural feat to marvel at. An absolute fairytale castle, truly from the storybooks! A must see if ever in Munich. Keep aside a full day to travel to and from this castle if travelling from Munich. And book in advance if interested in the castle tour!

Situated just north of the Brandenburg Gate, this building houses the German Parliament and was the seat of the Weimar Republic government until it was seized by the Nazis in 1933.
We pre-booked a tour of the Bundestag in English a few months before our trip to Berlin. We had to give passport details online to book on for security reasons.
On arrival we had to pass through airport style security checks before being shown into the foyer area of the building. There was a German speaking tour at the same time as our tour but this didn’t clash.
There was around 18 people in our group, we were allowed in the Bundestag Parliament room and allowed to take photos etc. We were then shown other rooms such as the CBS rooms etc which were interesting! The exterior is very old but the interior is very modern. They have kept some of the graffiti inside the Bundestag from when the Russians took over the building in 1945.
We were then allowed to go onto the roof/dome along with everyone else.
The tour guide spoke good English and engaged well with the guests.
You can enter the dome on its own if you prefer but if possible then you should try and book on the tour! It was free and was interesting! I would recommend doing this before you travel.

Hello folks, I recently visited a magic show here in Aachen and was in awe. Christian the magician dazzled me and the others with his quick wit, his incredible memory with numbers and his sleight of hand magic tricks. His connection to the audience was...MoreThank you very much :-)

Herzlichen Dank!!!

Rothenburg has made a concerted effort to preserve its medieval heritage, and Old Town reflects the historic fruits of this labor.
Beautiful walled city in Germany took on a special flare on a rainy day with the evening lights reflecting off the cobblestone pavement. The old city inside the walls was a magical walk through time although the stores offered beautiful items from today. Be sure to try one of the many bakeries and the meat markets which had a wonderful variety of delectable meats. Only wish we had more time to explore. Disappointed that one of the scenic entry towers from the brochures had a large white tent blocking the scenic view during the holiday season.
