Ok, I'm gonna be a bit harsh on this one... the place is actually not bad. We even gave it a second chance after trying the pizza (which was above average on the Wuppertal-scene), to see if it could become our favourite italian 'im Tal'.
The restaurant is well advertised in the local press and always packed as a result, which I don't think is justified. Location might also help.
The 'Do it yourself' pizza might sound like a nice idea, but certainly more of an american one than an italian one. If some non-italian feels like having pinapple or chicken on his pizza I can get over it, really, I can... but it shouldn't be encouraged. The bruschetta 'Fai da te' is a bit unusual but good. The tagliatelle zio Tino promised a lot and delivered little (taste)...
It is personal opinion but the dishes lack authenticity... so just 3***.

This is an excellent lebanese / arabic restaurant. The place is very big, but popular, so you're definitely better off booking on saturdays. We had the selection of 10 small starters (which are actually not that small) and a main course each, which was probably too much. The starters are very fresh, mainly vegetarian (lentils, potatoes, aubergines, tzaziki, felafel -delicious-, couscous...) and served with flat bread. It's difficult to stop, even though you know there is a main course coming. I had grilled king prawns, which were lovely. They came with vegetables, sauces, and a mountain of rice. My husband had lamb with okra, which was very good, but he really struggled with the portion's size. Think doggy-bag. The deco is definitely middle eastern, but I find the place too big to be cosy. The service is fast. Definitely recommend the food.

We highly recommend you to visit this nice Turkish restaurant if you plan an elegant night out. As a Turkish, I am proud to see this example of concept modern restaurant apart from the classical ones. Although it doesn't have a big variety of meals, the ones you order make you taste the best cooked and served meals in the city . And also my little son was very happy to be having conversation with the smiling face and kind staff.

If you are looking for Mediterranean/Italian cuisine, where the basic ingredients are prepared in a creative new way, and your budget lies at approx. EUR 40/person, this is definitely a place to go. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, with a lot of wood and a simplistic, natural interior design, a bit crammed but the food is excellent. All 4 dishes were very tasty with their own particular dish design. I had not tried any of them except for the chocolate souffle (which often can be ordered at other restaurants), but the latter was homemade and had a very intense, dark chocolate taste, not too sweet. The pumpkin gnocci with fennel are an ideal and different combination as Italian restaurants often use tomato sauce or cream (too much fat for my taste). The menu tends to change, thus be prepared to find completely different dishes depending on season.

We enjoyed our dinner at Wagner am Mauerchen. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy and the place seemed like a local favorite. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and were able to accommodate our inability to speak German. The service was prompt. The food was excellent. Everyone's meal was delicious and the portions were large. Finally, the prices were very reasonable.

We have decided that if you want excellent service, great ambiance, especially if you sit outside, a perfectly served dinner, this is the place to go in Wuppertal. We have never had a disappointing meal at this restaurant . Outstanding preparation and very well plated. A very good wine selection. Need I say more

This perhaps the most sophisticated restaurant in Wuppertal, quite different from the "pub style" or traditional ambiance that many other places have. No bratwurst here.
After 3 visits I can say high quality is consistent. Limited but varied choices on the menu, with varying daily dishes. Best and freshest ingredients.
Ample parking round the back, walking distance from Schwebebahn stops.

We had visited Noi when we were sushi vergins and the restaurant nothing more than a corner shop witha few tables... and that's when we decided that we could actually really get into sushi! A few years later, and this family restaurant moved to a prime central location, it's huge, and it's always full! We went back, and we loved it. The choice somehow felt on some pretty heavy stuff, such as the Fried Buddha roll... we almost rolled out of the restaurant, yes, you can eat too much sushi! The drinks are also interesting. Anyway, we need to go back to try some vietnamese dishes! Give it a try!

I shied away from this restaurant each time I walked past because it was crowded and I presumed it had lower-quality but cheap bar food. Then meeting someone here for a meal made me very happy I came: very good food and beer, and definitely a step up from what I expected. Very big on hamburgers, but there are also large salads, and good sweet-potato fries, always a good sign and welcome addition. Will eat here again my next visit.
