The world's southernmost city is located on the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the end of the world. It is a key access point to skiing at Cerro Castor and Glaciar Martial, wildlife adventures with penguins and orcas in the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Of course, it’s also the port of call nearest Antarctica, and a unique destination for kayaking, sailing or having a drink in a warm hotel bar.

Travelled as part of a Piratour Tour,which allowed us access on the island.The penguins,majority Magellan,bot also some Papua,and a pair of King Penguins.It is a spectacle to watch them,coming and going into the water.At the time of our travel-January 2018 the chicks were almost grown,but still with the fuzz on them.Very cute and entertaining,however one has to keep distance from them, not to interfere.

I heard that this trek is very muddy and therefore not pleasant at all. When I started it I was actually surprised how easy it was and how everybody was exaggerating. That was until I reached the mud field, lost balance on one of the logs and drown my leg knee-deep in the mud :D Poles would be useful for this part or even garbage bags to cover your shoes. Other than that the trek is easy and the views over the lagoon are very nice (although I saw more spectacular views in Patagonia).
This a half day activity. I hitchhiked there and back from/to Ushuaia. To do this you need a good sign. The best spot to catch a ride is on the main street after the roundabout on the north-east end of the city (you need to go up the hill to get there). I had to change the cars near the police station (after road is turning towards Rio Grande) but it was even easier to catch a ride there as all cars are going this direction. Navigation is good to locate the start of the trek. On the way back all cars are going to Ushuaia. It took me 15 min to find a ride as the traffic in the afternoon was low. I felt safe when hitchhiking in Patagonia all the time.

We went with the company Brasileiros em Ushuaia. The trek is about 7-8 hours total with moderate difficulty.
Scenery was simply amazing and changed so many times along the way...from the lovely valley, marshy forest, steep rocks, the stunning lagoon and finally the glacier and ice caves.
Please wear waterproof shoes!

We spent 4 nights on the ship. This was our first cruise and we quickly learned it was very unique. The purpose of the ship is to get you to the fiords and Islands in Tierra Del Fuego, The focus is the beauty of Patagonia and seeing it first hand
Every day you take one or tow Zodiac trips to see penguins, glaciers, hike an island, etc. They have trip for every fitness level. Really great and passionate guides
We loved every minute of the trip and would highly recommend it to any one

Nice park but little investment in infrastructure - e.g. benches, picnic tables, whatever. Different from North American parks. Beware of wasps when taking out food , especially in frequented areas - like near the sign/parking lot at the final hike.There are temporary banos not noted on the park map. maps times and distances seem to reflect "artistic license' philosophy . Worth the trip on a sunny day.

The Panamerican Highway that extends thousands of kilometers from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego ends here. You may have seen the documentary featuring the movie star Ewan McGregor, who traveled its length by motorcycle. Bahia is located in the National Park, so there is a fee for entry. The park is very interesting, so there are many other things to see.

I loved it here. The history involved with this city is so brilliantly represented with this museum, I couldn't say more positive things about it. A personal audio tour is offered with multiple languages so you don't miss a thing. You follow the yellow line and are able to walk into the exhibits to get a completely immersive experience. 3 floors, the third being a restaurant. The second has a small theater you can enjoy a short film. I hope my pictures do it justice and entice you to visit this incredible museum.

I hate ski resorts that damage the spirit of the sport and the Mountains.
Well.. this is not the case. Ill try to summarize:
- little party, high quality events
- excellent trainers (I took some classes with Pipi.. but they were all kind)
- greaaaat slides
- impecable instalations (although the first stop bar is not very clean)
- impecable ski suits and equipment
- the best employees.. very well trained to help customers
- coffee at 520-piste (??..not sure about the code) stop is highly recommended!... Strong coffee with JW black.. a reward after a tough day

Visited these lakes as part of an organised tour; most of the emphasis was on Lake Escondido. Great scenic views from strategic Lookouts. Amazing how colours change when different cloud formations obscure the sun. Southern beech seems to be the dominant tree in the area. Remains of some enormous beaver dams sighted - how big are the beavers in the park? Grateful that the lakes were included in our tour.
