Delicious home-made Italian cooking. Nicolas prides itself on the quality and freshness of the food which is prepared with excellent quality local produce.Ian, who has been in the hospitality trade for twenty six years, confesses to still have a passion for his work. He enjoys creating tempting and enticing Italian cuisine for his customers who always leave feeling they were treated to a warm atmosphere provided by the candlelit tables, efficient and friendly service and a generous sized meal that has their mouth watering before it gets to the table.
My husband and I love coming to Nicola's, and we've been plenty of times, either for their lunch specials (the pizzas are GREAT) or for dinner with friends, family or just a lovely meal for two. Had some great salads there, but usually we can't go past the pizzas and pastas, and we keep finding new favourites.
Our newest addiction though must be the Tiramisu, it's probably just as well that we only just tried it for the first time the other night; my husband declared it the best tiramisu outside of Italy! We had one to share, which after the big pasta dishes we had, was definitely a wise decision!

...we enjoyed our Barossa shiraz, a 2016 St Hallett's, with the first of seven shared courses we'd anticipated after ordering a 'trust-the-chef-style' selection titled 'La Mesa'. When you discover something _this_ good, it's almost impossible to order anything else... and it has been our mainstay several times since my last review in January.
Our courses included Atlantic Cod with Pesto (did I really jot down 'insanely great'?) Pork ('culinary adventure') and Apple-and-Fennel sorbet with Grenadine (my wife jotted down the recipe... .) Absolutely wonderful food... and we later met Mesa's chef, Ellen, for the first time... .
Yes, the wine list _is_ extensive... and we had difficulty choosing between four reds in the $40 - $55 range. The St Halletts was a good choice, but we'll try that Fat B@st@rd* Malbec next time, please. * [TA wouldn't accept the B-word, folks! Rejected my review!]
Service? Exceptional.
It's likely that Mesa is our favourite Bunbury restaurant. Discussing this as we took in the shimmering harbour lights, neither of us was able to cite a local restaurant we prefer... .

A good simple café but a complex menu.
Many items did not seem enticing, or the meal seemed overworked. I found only one item I would like (maybe two if I had the Pie of the day that seemed good) with a stylised eggs on toast was different and nice.
Not many meat options, so very good for vegetarian
Worth going to for a meal overing the upper parts of the estuary.

Food: Very tasty and authentic, tom yam soup just like I had in rural regions in Thailand. Wonderful that so many dishes are available vegetarian/vegan, like the tom yam. Careful: "medium" spicy is veeery spicy!
Staff: the owner/waiter is friendly but a bit peculiar.
Ambiance: Not much charm but clean and light elegance. Decor of the White Elephant is much warmer and cozier.

Great little restuarant. Visiting Bunbury for the first time In quite a while we asked for a recommendation from our accommodation provider which they did very successfully!
The food was great, and the staff very welcoming. We shared an entree, and had ordered two main dishes. The first dish arrived spand it was nicely presented with crisp fresh vegetable, and beautiful prawns, and a yummy but not overpowering sauce.
We ordered a duck dish also but had to ask for it to be packaged as a takeaway as following the entree and one main dish we were unable to eat anything further at that time. When next in Bunbury we will explore more of the White Elephants comprehensive menu.

If you are looking for tasty, fresh, healthy food (incl.vegetarian/GF) in a relaxed environment this is the place. Over many years they have worked out what works and have stuck to it. A selection of hot dishes and salads ready made means you can get a good meal in a short amount of time, or you can order something made for you. The prices aren't cheap but you don't stay in business for so long unless the food is good. I wish they would add a few more gluten free options as I end up having the same things every time I go. But it's always good so I go back....

Food was fresh, fast and tasty. Good friendly service and room to sit in and eat too. Pizzas are reasonably priced and toppings are generous.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish when we visited here recently for breakfast.
Incredibly high service levels from EVERY staff member we dealt with, beautiful and good-sized meals, lovely coffee and high-end, and spotlessly clean premises.
A VERY large choice of food options and everything looked so fresh and so well presented.
I can imagine that at times there'd be waiting queues to get in here, it's that good !
We cannot wait to go back, having even commented that we'd drive the hour or so to get to Bunbury, if for nothing else other than to just experience this cafe again. And again..........
