Beskid Mountains, which are springing up on the outskirts of Bielsko-Biala will provide an excitement to everyone, who is in mood for. There are many excellent trails and attractions like birds of prey-wildlife theme park. On the slopes of the Mount Barania are sources of Wisła (Vistula) River, the Queen of Polish rivers. Position of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in this mountainous region is stronger than anywhere in the country. Hit the trail with professional guide and reach Klimczok peak (1117 m high) by climbing from Bielsko-Biala. It will be easier, if you take a funicular railway, and make additional stop in Szyndzielnia Mountain Hostel.

Park Krajobrazowy Beskidu Slaskiego/Beskid Slaski landscape park

Reviewed By endrju_74 - Ipswich, United Kingdom

This landscape park (or AONB equivalent in England) protects 386,20 km² of land around Szczyrk, Wisła and Brenna (all towns are very popular tourist centres both for summer and winter activities). Some of the highest peaks fall inside borders of this park, including the highest Skrzyczne with 1275 m above sea level. Countless numbers of walking and cycling marked trials. Few big skiing centres with Polish national sports centre having it's branch in Szczyrk and running their ski lifts well into the park. Great place for people looking for peace and quiet. Huge numbers of accommodation options in Valleys (officially just outside parks borders). Many mountain huts on various peaks offering food and bunk beds. The park's management seat is in Żywiec.

Beskid Sport Arena

Welcome to the newly emerging sport and leisure centre, Beskid Sports Arena. The resort was designed for a year-round sport and tourism activity. "The family all year round" is the password, which constitutes a guideline for all technical solutions of the Arena.Beskid Sports Arena is located in Szczyrk, at the end of the valley of Biła creek. The bus stop is located in the vicinity of the resort. There will be 6 parking lots for total 500 vehicles and 5 buses. All parking spaces in the area are free. Beskid Sports Arena is equipped with a fully automatic snowmaking system provided by “SUPERSNOW”. Our system will consist of 42 stationary cannons, controlled by weather stations and two water tanks with a total capacity of 11,000 m3, equipped with aeration and cooling systems. The snowmaking system is supplemented by snowBOX, the machine enabling the production of snow also in summer.

Good 6 person chair lift, very nice blue slope, bit short red, crossing the blue, good quality material all around, many cannons for the off weather, however a bit overpriced snack bar at the top station, serving a small kiełbasa and bread with a coke for 20 zł. Parking lot is a muddy disaster, free parking though. Stiff walk uphill from the parking lot. Another stiff climb up two metal stairs to get to the lift. But ok, if you go skiing, you can handle that eh :) All in all a good alternative to Szczyrk gondola station, especially on low snow days, plus the Szczyrk Go pass works here too. Recommended.

The highlight of our visit was the predatory bird show where the bird caretaker not only told us about the habits and favorite food of buzzards, falcons and eagles, but also demonstrated how they fly, gain altitude and speed in the air, and hunt (using a toy prey). Our kids (4 and 6 y.o.) enjoyed it very much, also the part where we had to duck to avoid the eagle returning to the falconry glove :)

Brewery Museum

Quite interesting, explaining the brewing technology, boasting about the history of the brewery and tasting the beer at the end. It's possible to arrange to see the production line as well. Their beer is average, yet popular, but the museum is recommendable.
