What an attractive exterior & interior in this gasthaus that's over 400 years old. Mozart dined here as did Goethe & Diesel ( inventor of the diesel engine).
Very generous servings of my main meal, Grillpfanne Bauerntanz & salad with excellent flavours are nicely presented.
A light Staufenberg red wine was a good accompaniment to my dinner.
Service was good & other diners near me engaged with me about my meal.
I'd return here!

Made us feel like we where back in Greece. The meze was not lacking anything the better known tavernas of Thessaloniki offer who have an international reputation of the authentic politiky cuisine. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service friendly. Covering everything we could ask for. The decoration is simple yet artistic, thank god for no ancient Greek plaster pillars that we have gotten use to.

Good:
- very high quality Greek food
- you don't get the "Poseidon Platter" here, this is more authentic
- good service, the owner tries very hard
- the Beer Garden on hot days
- cheap!
Bad:
- location, boring, outside the city on a busy street
- not the restaurant.s fault but people are allowed to smoke in the beer garden

The cosy atmosphere of the Gewlbes in Ratskeller Augsburg is steeped in tradition and extremely inviting, and allows you to get away from the reality of everyday life for a few hours. Whether you opt for something substantial like the 'Wirtshaus classic', or a lighter option such as grilled pike perch on a bed of leaf spinach with lobster sauce and herb potatoes, or something sweet such as caramelised sugared pancake with roasted almonds, raisins and apple mousse, there is something to suit everyone's taste. Children and vegetarians are also well catered for. For example, food cooked in vegetable oil is marked up especially on the menu. Furthermore, the lunchtime menu changes on a daily basis. he drinks menu also caters to your every desire, with anything from cold beer to alcohol-free cocktails, that taste twice as nice during happy hour - anything is possible. As a thrilling alternative, a number of Murder Mystery Dinners are organised throughout the year in Ratskeller in Augsburg.

We were extremely amazed to find an authentic and really nice Bavarian restaurant. While the other places we visited couldn’t be bothered with a gluten allergy, the manger took care of us from the minute we entered. The size of the plates were generous, waiters caring and nice. We ate downstairs and the dining room was nice really Bavarian style and clean. Mains are between €9 and €19. Tasty meal no tourists food. Really worth trying.

We spent some hours with colleagues here. The location is easy to find, restaurant is right behind the souvenir shop.
It is recommended to taste more beers - all of them are very high quality. There is a large variety of food. I tried some traditional Bavarian, it was very delicious.
The place is also recommended for families, there is a nice playing corner too.

There are not too many places like this in Augsburg, modern, well designed interior and exceptional food.
All dishes were freshly prepared and really tasty, nothing to complain about. The portions were quite generous and the prices are reasonable for such a standard.
We will definitely come back.

The owner seems to have changed work hours without publishing it anywhere so we have basically "kissed the door" and not eaten anything. Higly unprofessional and recommend to avoid.Dear Sampaio25, yes that´s true, we were on vacation. But it´s wrong that we didn´t published that. We have a note on our website, an answer machine with the information and an email reply. Best regards, Michael Häuser
