My impression of Mettam's Pool from Reading reviews was completely different to what I experienced - there are signposts that the pool has submerged rocks and strong currents, and is a very small beach. Narrow and not deep in relation to sand on the beach.
And watch out for blue bottles on the beach.
Its not one of the biggest in Perth, but it's a nice beach. Not as nice as Scarborough.

The park cultivates over 13,000 species of Western Australian plants and contains one of the world's largest areas of natural bush land close to a city.
Perhaps ‘just beautiful’ is enough to say.
If you want perfect views across the Swan River looking almost 360 degrees around Perth, this is the place to come.
Perhaps have a coffee and take in the serenity of the War Memorial and some quiet contemplation of the Eternal Flame.
Wonder through the various memorials which are thought provoking and incredibly sad.
We loved the botanical Gardens. WA is known for its wonderful native plants and the Gardens took us on a great ‘plant’ journey around the state.
No trip to Perth is complete without time in Kings Park.

I have been coming here for many years, initially for romantic strolls with the girlfriend then progressed to showing the kids the black swans and ducks and now just for a peaceful strolls around the lake.
This has progressive become a more family friendly area with decent walking paths that go right around the lake with bird shelters / gazebos to stop and watch the wildlife.
It's right alongside the mitchell freeway and many parking spots.
Always a great free entertainment.

Have been to Hilary’s three times over the past few years. It’s a pretty, well maintained area with a host of small shops and restaurants to choose from. Nice for a little ramble

Westfield Innaloo is an iconic shopping destination, with the latest from the world's leading retail brands.
Have been shopping at this location since 1980, well before Westfield developed the site.
It has been redeveloped and modernised a few times since then.
There are plans to greatly expand in the next 12 months or so will have new restaurants, plaza's and a cinema complex.
Other reviewers have covered the current tenants, I enjoy coffee before or after shopping - there are many to choose from.
Last Sunday I enjoyed a coffee and muffin at Gloria Jeans before shopping at Woolworths.
This is a good mall with plenty of parking which makes for easy access.
If you are near Innaloo this is a good mall to shop at.

Bold Park has a wonderful lookout at the top of the hill surrounded by great Australian bush and not far from the city. The park also offers great walks surrounded by nature, peace and tranquillity.
If you are a visitor to Perth you will need to have a vehicle to get to this great spot, which is not far from the coast.
