Visited with a colleague whilst in Reading for work.
The pub is lovely with a nice atmosphere. All staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive. The menu is lovely and offers lots of great options, and the food to follow is really nice. The portions are absolutely MASSIVE (I struggled and I can eat alot). Wouldn't hesitate to visit again!

Offering a vibrant, nutritious selection of historic Sardinian recipes and modern Italian dishes, Pepe Sale is an award-winning eatery in the centre of Reading. As well as premium staples like home-made fresh pasta and typical bread and wines, delicious house specialities showcase a wealth of culinary experience. A bright dining room features retro green and white tiling, a pastel orange colour palette and glossy granite-topped tables.
Go for the table overlooking the main restaurant, we were able to see everything! The red wine came VERY cold, although surprisingly enjoyable, but unfortunately the last bottle as we would have had more.
Starters were very tasty, mixed salad and spicy prawns, although more saucy than spicy! Luckily there was one last portion of the main suckling pig, my brother was looking forward to if since I mentioned the restaurant, as it ended up feeding us both. I ordered the wild boar cutlet, which they only had escalope, it was inedible. I believe they must have precooked it then reheated in the microwave. We ended up sharing the sides with one (generous) serving of pork.
The staff were a mixed bag, some going out of their way to be accommodating, others who couldn't care less! Overall, and interesting experience, we both had a laugh out of it, but no tip was given.

After visiting my partners son at Reading university, we looked on trip adviser to find a good curry house close by. We were not disappointed with our choice!
It was later on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet but that didn’t affect the food or the service.
We were gladly welcomed, sat at a lovely table with nice surroundings.
They had the best poppadum and pickles tray I have had in a long time.
Very tasty mushroom purée and mix starter. Tender tikka chicken.
Great garlic naan, light fluffy and garlicky, as it should be!
Offered a complimentary liquor or ice cream which was a very nice touch after a delicious meal anyway.
Next time we visit we will return!

Fresh seasonal british food with a twist, cask ales, craft lagers & fantastic cocktails.
An early Christmas work meal, good decor, reasonable beer, £4 for Loddon but over £5 for the craft beer so not cheap for an out of town pub and there was no 5-7pm happy hour as promised on the website and no explanation. The staff were friendly if ambivalent at times, they catered for 9 on a Tuesday night no problem and there were vegan choices. The fish & chunky chips looked good as did the vegan burger and my vegan cottage pie was quite tasty but very small with some soggy but reasonably chewable kale. Overall not bad, nice for a drink but not cheap.

Quattro Italian restaurant in Caversham offers an excellent range of traditional Italian food. Dishes include freshly made pasta, pizza, meat, fish specialities, and a large vegetarian selection.
Incredibly friendly family run restaurant with lovely food, great service and always busy. Couldn’t recommend this place more, best in the area

As Italian I am very demanding with Italian restaurants. At Papagee you will find courtesy and amazing food. Don't forget to order sfogliatelle or pastiera as dessert. Gaetano (the cook) is friendly and welcoming. Buon appetito :)

We are a typical cottage style pub serving classic pub food alongside modern britsh food. Set in beautiful oxfordshire countryside, We offer a warm welcome to all our customers and welcome well behaved dogs on leads and children in our fully enclosed garden.
I popped into the Ref last night with my two boys,(9 and 15) for a quick Friday night dinner, after a long day stuck indoors because of the snow. Three hours later, we were still there! The food was delicious,(I really enjoyed my steak, the kids' menu is perfect and my eldest loved the mussels), but what turned it into a great evening was the warm welcome and joining in with the open mic night, led by Amanda Hague. It was the sort of evening you hope for in the middle of winter and so rarely get. Thank you- a gem of a country pub.

Nice little tea room offering a good selection of hot and cold drinks. Nice food. Just a little over priced

A return to the Himalaya Momo House for an early evening meal yesterday was well rewarded. Putting their recently reported problems behind them they are intent on delivering superb Nepalese cooking at very reasonable prices (a special deal is offered on Monday - Wednesday). The absence of an overuse of ghee and chilli, too often found in many Indian restaurants, results in delicious food with subtle blends of herbs and spices. Temporarily without a drinks license (you can BYO), a jug of chateau Thames was fine for us. The restaurant was not busy when we visited early evening, and the service was excellent: friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Another visit to this wonderful, traditional pub. Warm and welcoming this hostelry serves some of the finest ale you can acquire; I have never had a bad pint. The rolls here are delicious, the corned beef and onion is thoroughly recommended but there are plenty of options available. If you fancy soup this is made on site and again is recommended without hesitation. If you are in the area give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
