Nice architecture in halebidu. Compared to belur temple most of them are ruined. This also has a museum inside the temple tickets cost rs. 5.
The temple is basically siva temple. There is a postoffice opposite to this where you also get halebeedu cancellation card. No entry fee for temple.

Not many people going to Belur-Halebid visit this temple as it is not very popular. But it is truly a hidden treasure. Any history, art and architecture lover could spend hours here looking at the wonderful carvings and craftsmanship of this beautiful temple. If you love architecture and archaeology this is indeed a place that should be in your Bucket List.

Kukke Subramanya temple (temple where all snakes were given shelter by lord Subramanya from Garuda)is situated near Kumara parvatha.
It is very divine place .Since we went during festival season we had to spend some time in queue .We witnessed the Ratholsav . The fire crackers at the end of the festival were just amazing.
Kumaradhara is the river flowing near the temple ,very good place to visit.
Road towards the temple was good except for the last 28 to 22 km stretch. From Blr to kukke

We went from Kushalnagar to mallalli falls, the route was awesome. It takes you via harangi Reservoir. The road condition is good till the falls, but its small road so take care of opposite vehicles.
Falls is good from top view and you may need to walk 600steps to reach the bottom of the falls. Take care of kids while go in steps, since no side grills are available.

From kukke I took a bus ksrtc to dharmasthala. The ride though in a rickety bus is quite enjoyable as it passes through gundy forest . Thick dense vegetation, small quaint houses tucked away amidst huge trees , it's a nice journey.
Dharmasthala , again it's so clean it's unlike India. Once u travel south on pilgrimage u will never like north or any other part of country. No use of plastic , bins everywhere, Gurkha, pan cigarette banned .both in kukke and here
Darshan : this is exactly like Tirupati, long winding queues, but the idol is small and u don't get a proper look at it.
Food : Once darshan is done u can head for annaprasadam. I was really disappointed with food here, I HV been to Tirupati , hornadu, udupi etc but food is good everywhere after all it's Prasad. But the rasam n rice served was hardly edible. Rasam was watery and devoid of taste.
Food can be skipped .
I hopped back to kukke as I didn't find anything else in dharmasthala to wait for.

We visited in the morning while sun rise. The fort is good for taking selfies and photos. U need to climb 200 stairs to reach the top. Don't ever try to visit during afternoon as sun is in its peak at that time.

This was the 12th-century capital of the Hoysalas.
Halebidu temple is beautifully carved... it has long history associated with it. better if you get guide along or yourself should know history to enjoy such structures..

The entrance has a Majestic Structure. Very well maintained, One of the Important Maths and the presiding deity is Goddess Sharada. One will experience positive vibration as he or she enters the complex. As is customary in most of Karnataka Temples there is Annaprasadam at noon for which there is a big queuer. Partake it if you have time. Walk around and admire the river and serenness.
