Hellenic Republic is a traditional Greek taverna with a contemporary twist - perfect for modern Melburnians! Our food philosophy is simple – fantastic, fresh produce to prepare traditional recipes in a clean, contemporary style. At Hellenic, kefalograviera saganaki is served with sweet peppered figs; local wines are served by the half litre and succulent meats are cooked over char coal.We recommend our Trapezi menu as the best way to dine at Hellenic Republic, where our chefs prepare a selection of our finest dishes for guests to share. The restaurant seats 120 guests, or alternatively can accommodate up to 220 standing guests for a stand up cocktail function.
What a great night out. Excellent food and service in an interesting bustling crowded restaurant. The waiting staff were very helpful in adjusting the sizes and selections we made from the menu to give us a tasty meal. The highlights among the selections were the Fava dip and the Sardines.

Meet here with friends semi regularly and always have a banquet because it saves on time and decisions. Luckily the banquets here are great. Fresh satay skewers and crispy spring rolls to start then 3 excellent mains. A very tasty green curry, stirfry duck and my favourite grilled pork. There's plenty of fluffy steamed rice to accompany your meal and then a bowl of icecrem to finish. All at a very reasonable price. A full drinks list and very good coffee is on hand. Always busy here so be sure to book.

This Cake Shop has been around for a little over 50 years, my brothers and I would walk past on our way to and from school and drool over the cakes through the window. Mum always bought cakes from Sargents and now (even though I live some distance away) I always purchase my sons birthday cakes from there and when I visit Dad in Reservoir I always stop and get him a treat - I'm sure my Mum would be watching from heaven and wishing she was getting one of her favourites - Apple Charlottes - Yum !!

This is my favourite cafe in Darebin, I visit several times most weeks. I believe this is the best coffee in Darebin. It is a roastery too so coffee is always fresh. There are premium blends and single origin to buy for taking home. Burnt Fig Granola is my pick for breakfast. It has honey dipped almonds rolled in cinnamon, panna cotta, fresh fruit and pistachio crumb! Heavenly! Have eaten here many times, they have a very good menu. Love the pumpkin quinoa salad, with toasted pumpkin and sunflower seeds, avocado, goats fetta, pomegranate, mixed leaves, house made dressing and a marinated free range chicken option to add to it. So nutritious and tasty. Friendly service and an interesting quirky warehouse space.

I do find it funny that restaurants advertise themselves as being authentic when they look nothing like the type of restaurant that you would actually find in that country. I guess if has a lot to do with the much stricter hygiene laws here in Australia. Anyway, while it may not feel like a restaurant in Thailand, you can at least get some pretty decent Thai food here, if that is what you are hanging out for and don't want to fly there for a weekend. The staff are pretty cool, and I have actually been here twice. Mind you, it isn't the cheapest restaurant to eat at, but it still is pretty nice. They also have Thai beers available (if that is what you like).

Located in front of Edward lake park, it's location is great.
Place is small and compact. Looks congested. Outside Seating available but again limited.
Food is good, limited choice of spirits and beverages.
Great selection of ice creams ( may be fast moving coz of the park in front)
Staff friendly and service is average.

I have wanted to try Lady Bower for a while so got my sister and niece to comel along for lunch. They offer an all day breakfast which includes crumpets and porridge but alas no chia pudding. Lots of variety of eggs and sandwiches. I had the house made waffles with chocolate sauce and mascarpone cheese and candied walnuts. The waffles were nice thick and crunchy..but that was the only nice thing about them. The chocolate sauce might as well not have been there, there was that little of it, same for the walnuts. Because there was hardly any sauce the waffles were very dry and I had to ask for maple syrup. If your going to state with sauce, you want to serve it with an adequate amount of sauce. I was left disappointed with my choice. I loved the eclectic decor and the staff were friendly.

Service - meh, I'm not here for some kind of swanky dinner for two. I'm here for good Vietnamese food without the silly price tag some not-so-authentic places charge. If there are lots of Viet people in there, it's good. Also, I'm Vietnamese so I think I have some credibility in vouching for quality and price.
Wait times - not so bad. Friday nights seem to be the busiest but we never wait more than ... 5? minutes to get a table.
My favourite dishes are the Banh Hoi Nem Noung and Ban Hoi Bo La Lop, though I wish they'd be more consistent with how many lettuce leaves are served with the dishes. Get out of that comfort zone - we get questions from many people of what we're eating because all they order is what they know (for some reason it tends be either Pho or what is really a Chinese dish). I encourage you to try something new if you come back ;)

There's something for everyone at Zagame's Family Bistro, Bar and Entertainment facilities. Come in and enjoy the quality seasonal menu, friendly service and see why... Everybody Loves Zagame's!
Thousands of good family hotels in Victoria and when you are in Reservoir you can go to Zagames. For a reasonable cost, the food is of higher quality than normal hotel food. I had a well prepared King George Whiting (one of the best tasting SA fish) with risotto rice and kale; the traditional veal was good and kids meals. As you could expect with children it is noisy. Service was mixed with mistakes made.

First time and too be honest, expected it to be better. Daughter ordered cheese burgers and fries. The cardboard car they came in was cute but the burgers boring with patty and not much cheese. Her vanilla milkshake, looked amazing but was very vanilla tasting and small and fit $5.95, over priced
Meat platter was good. Had pork ribs, sliders, sausage, meatballs, chicken wings and garlic bread. Sliders were boring and meatballs cold. Mac and cheese had a bit of spice to it which ruined it for me. Was going to order pie but at $13.90 for a tiny slice; decided against it.
Glad I tried it but won't go back.
