Great way to get around Melbourne. You can hop on and off all day. They run every 15-20 minutes in both directions. The tram also has a voiceover service providing historical context to various stops along the route. Often there is also a customer service officer on board to help you with any questions you may have.

Xcapade Escape Rooms

Escape Rooms are an exciting & challenging real life experience that enable small groups of people to use clues within and sometimes beyond the room to solve puzzles that allow them to escape the room.

We had such a great time trying to decipher the riddles and clues. The clues themselves were very well thought out, and I am surprised we actually cracked all of them, as they were so clever! Great thing to do with a family, an hour...MoreHi Afamlonga, Thanks for taking time and reviewed us!! We glad to hear you all had an amazing time in our escape room and we hope to see you again soon. Islamic Museum of Australia

Specialty Museum The Islamic Museum of Australia has 5 permanent galleries: Islamic Faith, Contributions to Civilisation, Islamic Art, Architecture and Australian Muslim History. There is a visiting exhibtion and the Modern Middle Eastern Restaurant & Cafe is run by Masterchef Australia 2013 finalist Samira.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highlights were the Islamic Faith exhibit and the Islamic Contributions to Civilisation. The contribution of Islam to our understanding of maths, science and technology today is conveyed in captivating exhibits. I loved the short video of articulate Australian women explaining why they wear a hijab.
Basic tenants of Islam were explained well through panels and videos.
Australian Muslim art is featured as well as the work of artists who are not Muslims but have worked on Muslim themes. Australian Muslim history is covered including the history of Muslims who worked in northern Australia before British settlement and the story of Muslims who worked with Christians on one of Australia's most significant infrastructure projects of the 19th century.
We spent over three hours at the museum. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is good access for people with mobility issues. My mother welcomed the cafe at the back of the Museum.
I suggest the Museum add books about the Islamic contribution to western knowledge in their bookshop. The exhibit about this leaves people wanting to know more.
I have written a more extensive review on my blog, Stumbling Through the Past.

Haigh's Chocolates Rialto

Known as the New York end of Collins Street, our newest store is located at 495 Collins Street, just next door to the Intercontinental Melbourne The Rialto Hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s financial district. It is our sixth Melbourne store, and fourth in the CBD after we first opened at the Paris end of Collins Street in 1965. Located within a heritage listed Queen Anne style building that dates back to the late 1800’s, the architecture is a perfect fit for Haigh’s. Whether you are staying in the hotel, or visiting the busy Docklands, our team are ready to help you find something delicious at one of our largest stores.

Haigh's Chocolates are wonderfully tasty, no matter what type you choose. There are so many different varieties and we just could not stop at one, but of course there is a limit. The down side is that we found that Haigh's chocolates also tend to be on the expensive side a bit.
