This alpine lake is a popular place for a summer swim.
Like the view of the lake with black forest background. With many restaurants, shops, and hotels around its typical of convenience holiday places. Suit for all ages. Experience the view from the lake center by renting boat. €7 for 30minutes.

I took this trip being ignorant as can be about the history of the Black Forest. This was incredible to me. The kids loved it too!

We drove down from Titisee on the road to Freiburg and took the well-signposted turnoff after going round some amazing bends at the start of the ravine.
Once parked walk down to the hotel and take a right. The scenery from there on is breathtaking as you follow the path next to the river, crossing Bridges and meeting Waterfalls. We only walked for a km as our kids were feeling tired but I would have gone a lot further. The going was slow as we stopped every 100m to take photos.
Well worth a visit.

Even if you are not into hiking, we would recommend visiting the summit. This involves a gondola ride that provides beautiful vistas and a walk (uphill but not that steep) with even more views. If you are a hiker, there are trails down to the Feldsee (lake) available.

It was a amazing good experience. Great event and a lot fo fun. Special thanks to our guide Fabian. After professional introduction into the world of Segway, he guided us in a friendly and personal way through the beatiful Black forest. On the top was the "Zaepfle" at Rothaus Brauerei. Top !!!

What a delightful surprise the badeparadies was. We didn‘t know quite what to expect. It was amazing, from the bar in the thermal pool, to the four smaller theraml pools on the side and 5 or 6 saunas and additional thermal pool upstairs. Although it was quite busy on a snowy afternoon, it was still very relaxing. If you come to the Titisee, this is a must visit. Be aware there are three attractions here. One is a Water Park with slides, which has a separate entrance area, the thermal pools in the middle bit, are with swim wear, which we visited and apparently there is a similar nudist thermal pool area, which has a separate entrance and separate facilities, which we did not visit. The three attractions although housed in the same facility are quite separate and there is no flow between them.

First off, this is completely a new and fabricated village except for the old hotel from what you can see of the photos. The cuckoo clock place is interesting if you wish to know how the clocks originated and are made, but the clocks worth having are extremely expensive (around 2,000 Euros). They have a glass blowing place that has nice articles, but again, very expensive with a basic Christmas type ball ornament (160 E).
Probably the best thing in the location is the Ravenna Bridge/Viaduct which is a huge railway bridge that the German Army blew up in 1945 and the occupying French made POWs rebuild it to the present stone structure. If you follow the trail uphill, there are a few basic Waterfalls, but nothing spectacular unless you have never seen any Waterfalls in person.
And lastly, they have an awful buffet below another gift shop that serves a basic cafeteria type meal, with the only noteworthy part being the potato pancake.

We went to visit this trail with our two young children (5&3). Nice trail - very green. It was raining a bit, and yet it did not disturb us. The trail has pitstops along the way with bits of information. It was disappointing that it was only in english - perhaps find the translations on the internet and bring with you. Don't bring strollers - they will be difficult to manuever. Prepare for about 1.5 hours of walking.
