We were 2 weeks ago, one week on the Feldberg. Each night we had our diner at the Feldbergpass. Almost everything at the card we tried and it was all: delicious, tooo much, and the prices are good. Aga, Stephan, Marlies , thank you for your hospitality and ehh my weight was 2 kilo's more than when I arrived!
Next year we will surely come again and hope to enjoy your meals ( schöffele mit kartoffel??) and kind attention again!
Regards, AnneMarie Legerstee, Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands

this restaurant is not what it appears to be!
the service was below average, the food was of the same standard and the prices were above the german average.
the french service was a joke, since the waiters did not know, what below the cloche!
how can you serve a crispy cordon bleu , steaming under the cloche?
just forget about it!

We have visited this 'Hutte" twice now, whilst walking in the shadow of the Feldberg. It's a wonderful spot whether warm and sunny to sit outside, or cold and snowy to relax in the warmth by a roaring fire. The restaurant is always busy which is a great sign and the food is great value. The self-service can get a bit chaotic at times, but that's a feature of how popular the venue is. Highly enjoyable and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The food, the atmosphere and the lovely owners make Schwarzwaldhaus a standout in the area.
The food is typical southern German fare done really well. Whatever you choose, you will enjoy it. Cooked by the better half of the ownership team and done the right way.
The atmosphere is true black forest. Think wooden panels inside and a small garden in the sun with plenty of flowers outside.
The service is typical of the area, kindly and somewhat reserved - don't mistake this for lack of interest or lack of care ... folk are just a little less effusive down here.
Eat here.

Have been here many times.Generally excellent food and service. Probably my favourite restaurant of this type in Deutschland. Did however have an annoying response from (the owner's daughter no less!) on Saturday night when (after not having been greeted by the new waitress as we walked in - Rule No. 1 I would have thought) I was not satisfied with the wine I had ordered. The owners's daughter was far from sympathetic and handled the situation badly I think. She even went as far as to question my memory of the last time I had the wine in question!! (Only rarely in Germany is the Kundin König!) I guess she could not have known that tasting, buying and selling wine was my profession for many years. She should have been professional enough to know that when dealing with a regular customer who has never 'caused problems' in the past to just let it go. Maybe next time. Go for the truly excellent food and mostly respectful service.

The Bergdörfli Silva Nigra restaurant at the Feldberger Hof in Feldberg offers international specialities and delicacies from the Black Forest. With its small and cosy rooms the restaurant has a quaint alpine style look. A stream flows through the middle of the restaurant to a waterwheel. You feel as if you have gone back in time. The Hebel-Stube is full of rustic hay herbal smells and old paintings which an artist from Freiburg painted more than 100 years ago to illustrate the poems of Johann-Peter Hebel. It has a bright conservatory which is suitable for families. Here you can enjoy fine food and wine and enjoy the glorious views of the countryside even during the cold winter months. There is also a fabulous play area for children.
A very good value buffet. All you can eat for 12euros. If you only have juice and coffee then they are also included. The hotel has recently been refurbished and is very clean tidy and organised. Staff are helpful though I had real difficulty in finding someone to pay! Will definitely be back. Good location at foot a ski slopes. Looks like there are lots of facilities for kids. It did not seem very well advertised from outside.

We stopped here for lunchtime during a tour of the Black Forest. The hotel restaurant appears to be popular with tourists and locals and was very busy for mid-week. The menu was varied and included the usual German staples and some local dishes. We opted for a schnitzel and a local pasta dish of Maultaschen in a vegetable broth. Both were very good and the service was excellent. We will certainly be back when in the area again.
