Good routes and some fun down hill sections.... worth a trip to see great views wide open spaces, some wild ponies on the tops
Very very wet and muddy in November but fun nevertheless.
Think that sign posting could be improved on a specially for the mountain biking fraternity as we can’t have maps and keep stopping very few mins to navigate
Good for walking
Windy as it open to elements
Forest section at southern end is fun, but was so muddy I gave up on the off route trails

Young kids (4 and 7) walked all the way to the waterfall and back. Parked near the top car park (past the NT cafe) to make the walk more scenic per metre, crucial for young kids. Even with sleet and strong wind our kids enjoyed it, crossing the ford and stream many times. Beautiful.

Similar to Ikea this is a maze on three floors and you will be lucky to escape in a hurry. A mishmash of knickknacks to major pieces of furniture. There is something for everyone and great to spend an afternoon. Prices reasonable. has a small cafe too. Great for a wet afternoon.

Ragleth Hill

Reviewed By GH24

We were visiting the area for some walking and picked up a walking leaflet from the tourist information office. There was a choice but we opted for Ragleth Hill as our legs and lungs are getting on a bit and we wanted something gentler than the Long Mynd etc. The starting point is the East Hope car park in the centre of Church Stretton. The walking guide and way markers were very clear and kept us on the right track with no errors. The paths were good quality, dry despite all the rain and steep enough to challenge us. It's 4-5 miles long and took us through a good range of terrains including some fantastic views at the top. If you are looking for something less steep than other local hills then this could be the one for you.

Boultons of Shropshire

Reviewed By CEJoneses - Telford, United Kingdom

A very enjoyable way to spend a late January afternoon! We booked Boulton's 29 seater as a birthday present and had an excellent tour with a careful, friendly driver. 14 of us were collected from home, taken around scenic South Shropshire for about 90 minutes and then stopped for tea. We were then brought back home via a different but equally scenic route and as some of our party had not visited this area of the county before, this was much appreciated. The driver even found routes which the rest of us hadn't travelled, despite having lived in and explored the county for decades!
The vintage coach is beautifully presented and maintained and we appreciated the care and consideration of the driver who knows the county very well indeed. We found the whole bespoke tour extremely good value for money, our dealings in booking it were efficient and friendly. All round, an excellent advertisement for the firm and the county. Thank you.

When I reviewed Housmans I had to mention how I'd previously disliked standing at the bar, blocking the thoroughfare. Conversely, when you're dining, you really don't want a mildly intoxicated bunch of middle aged locals invading your personal space. So the new owner Malcolm hatched a plan to create an ale house across the road and it's turned out well.
If you're a real ale fan then the chances are you will find a beer that suits you, no lager. The guest ales can soon run out so they're constantly changing which is no bad thing, they will come back if they're popular.
The bar doesn't really do food but there's Scotch eggs, crisps and the like.
The interior is not extensive and it can get packed but that's not a criticism. It appears that people who've emigrated to Shrewsbury are now coming back to sample the great nightlife of Church Stretton. You can sit at the bar or at the wood tables, it's well laid out and has a warm atmosphere.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.
