Redditch is a town and local government district in north-east Worcestershire, England, approximately 15 miles (24 km) south of Birmingham. The district had a population of 84,300 in 2011. In the 19th century it became the international centre for the needle and fishing tackle industry. At one point 90% of the world's needles were manufactured in the town and its neighbourhoods. In the 1960s it became a model for modern new town planning.

Contemporary style imbues every part of Redolence Spice, an Indian restaurant on Redditch's Unicorn Hill. Based around a palette of red, white and black, the restaurant's upstairs dining room is entirely modern with leather Seating and white tablecloths, airy and bright thanks to large windows and well spaced tables. The atmosphere here at Redolence Spice is comfortable and laid back yet with a hint of formality in the extremely polite service from friendly, informed staff. Trained in restaurants throughout England and Bangladesh, Redolence Spice's head chef has a passion for food and flavours which really comes through in every dish on the Redolence menu, from the more traditional curries to the contemporary additions, with their lighter, healthier feel and delicate spicing. Fish is a particular specialty, freshly prepared for use in less well known but authentic regional delicacies. Extremely affordable, Redolence Spice is an ideal midweek treat for those days when cooking is just too much trouble.
We came back to Redolence after visiting in July as we dont live near but were staying nearby. We were recognised and greeted like we were regulars. Itwas very welcoming and pleasant.
We had our hearts set on the Nihari chicken and asked about it as we didn't see it on the menu. We were told that they would make it for us and Chef recalled our last visit also as we raved about the Curry and took one home with us as well.
Well we were not disappointed! The Nihari was arguable the best Curry i have eaten. Flavorful, tender, big portion.... couldn't fault it. We again ordered another to take away for the next day.
I recommend Redolence all day long and wish we lived closer.
Chef suggested when he came to our table that next time we come, let them know ahead and he will make something bespoke for us. We will certainly take them up on this and cant wait for our next visit.

My partner and I visit this place on a regular basis and have done so for the last five years.
The extremely high quality of authentic indian food or impeccable level of service has not changed in this time period since my first visit here in the summer of 2012.
The restaurant has a very modern and contemporary feel to it with a stylish and minimalistic approach to decor. There are little Fountains underneath the stairwell in which my partner and I have asked to be seated next to regularly.
The food is in short fantastic. A wide range of curries and having had many dishes from this place, each and every one is literally bursting with flavour. If you're a spice connoisseur, they tend to get your order exactly how you have asked for it. The standout feature aside from the beautiful taste of the food is the texture of it. It is light and fluffy and you can tell it is not produced from fatty butter ghee, I would wager olive oil is used instead. I never suffer the following day and I have my curries from here cooked with multiple green chillies!
I have been dining around Redditch for 20 years, including many other indian restaurants, Rily's is by far the classiest. They are warm and welcoming and there is a very human feel about their service there.
I totally recommend this place and put my bottom dollar on the fact you will enjoy it.

I was delighted to be a Wednesday night competition winner at Champagne Express via their Facebook group. The chicken curry was mouth watering and with as much "kick" to it as I like. As always the onion bhajis were cooked to perfection - so moreish that I can't wait to come for one of the Sunday evening buffets sometime so that I can have even more (greedy I know, but once you've sampled them I'm sure you'll understand!) Thank you Abdul and colleagues for your lovely generosity and all the wonderful meals you so lovingly make. It's always a pleasure and we'll certainly keep coming back for more - just try and stop us!! :)

A Contemporary Country Pub With Modern British Food, Fine Wines & Real Ales
Paid a reasonably inflated price for a Christmas lunch and the food was good but no other redeeming features. No atmosphere, no front of house presence or welcome, could have been any old day of the year. Will not be returning. Another customer focus point, it is disappointing to arrive in the car park and find that a personalised staff car is straddling disabled car park spaces. Man's inhumanity to man. Pity the day could have been special with a little more thought by management.

Regularly come here. It’s the place to go for curry in Redditch. Can not fault the food. Cannot fault the friendly staff, they are always ready to help. There’s a reason this place wins awards! Toilet facilities could do with some improvement but it certainly wouldn’t stop me from visiting!

Recently refurbished but still in keeping with a traditional classic public house / restaurant. Drink ,dine, relax and enjoy . Fine dining but without the price tag .
Called in en route to our overnight stay on the road to Dover. Hadn't planned anything but when we saw this pub we thought we'd just try it as it looked pleasant from the outside. Ate in the bar area although there is a more...MoreThank your for taking your time to review us here at the Why Not , I will pass your comments onto my team . Many thanks again for reviewing us . I was surprised that the restaurant was so empty when we visited on a Saturday night at 8pm in mid-December. We hadn't booked and were easily accommodated. To start we elected for the usual popadoms and a tandoori chicken to share. My wife had a prawn and spinach Balti (which isn't on the menu, but they cooked for her nevertheless) with peshwari nan and I chose the Chana Ghost Bahari (a lamb dish with chick peas) and pilau rice. Overall the food was nice, in a nice atmosphere. Service was a bit slow which was surprising given that they weren't particularly busy and we had to repeat our drinks orders on a couple of occasions before we were eventually served. Expect to pay around £50 for 2 including drinks. There is limited car parking just outside the restaurant.

The Greens provides a peaceful oasis with lovely views over Pitcheroak Golf Course minutes from the centre of Reddtich. The building itself is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2013. It has history and character to compliment the homemade traditional British food on offer. Visit our website to choose from the menu or book your party.
Personal favourite of mine this place, the breakfast is sooo good.
Prices are very reasonable and the food comes out on heated plates, not many places do this but it's a massive plus for me, I hate Luke warm food.
With the breakfast comes doorstep bread & butter or toast.
For the money it is extremely good value. Many families come here, you also get the golfers in before they T off. Good atmosphere, highly recommended.

First time visiting this Beefeater late afternoon and very enjoyable. Relaxing atmosphere, with a well designed modern layout with different sized tables and chairs suitable for different sized parties.
Waiting staff very pleasant and helpful and the food was as we ordered it, hot and very tasty. It is very conveniently situated next to a Premier Inn which also looked very modern and welcoming.
Look forward to returning.
