Artrix is a versatile multi disciplinary arts centre with a 300 seat auditorium, a spacious dance studio, meeting rooms and a visually stunning foyer/gallery. The auditorium’s balcony and side galleries give it an unusually intimacy, while its flexible central Seating can be retracted to provide a dance floor. A striking feature of the building is its height and structure, which provide the acoustic qualities needed for chamber and orchestral music one session, and for amplified music or surround sound cinema the next. The venue’s annual programme is made up of well over 200 specialist film screenings, over 400 workshop sessions and 12 Exhibitions as well as participation and educational projects in the local community. It’s live programme of over 200 Performances includes chamber and orchestral Concerts, jazz, folk and blues gigs, top stand up comedy, cutting edge theatre and dance and more traditional community-produced drama.Managed by a charitable trust, Artrix works closely with Bromsgrove District Council and NEW College of Further Education to ensure that the service it offers is fresh and relevant while its active partnership with Bromsgrove’s dynamic arts community ensures the widest possible local cultural engagement.
Our visit was for a music concert in the Main Theatre. An excellent setting, good sound and easy to see the whole stage. However, the evening was spoilt by such a simple thing as only one queue for refreshments at the interval. How on earth can you only have one customer service position for drinks (alcoholic & soft); teas & coffee's; and Ice Creams??
By the time we had queued for our Ice Creams these had started to melt & the call had gone up for the concert to re-start!
A positive thought to Management - either have separate queues (you can't pre-order hot drinks & Ice Creams) or have more staff serving to avoid disappointed customers.

An open-air museum of 30 rescued historic buildings which have been dismantled and moved from around the counties of the West Midlands to prevent their destruction. Set in 19 acres of attractive parkland these buildings show how the people of the region have lived, worked and played over the last 700 years.
We visited on a wet and cold day so was very quiet, but we’ll definitely go back in the spring and summer - and take a packed lunch or visit one of the local pubs for lunch (quite a few good ones)
Lovely place - really interesting and lovely and green. Nice staff. Children’s play area. Tea room. Museum shop. Little one loved the telephone exchange.

I've taken this route down the canal many times with family, friends or on my own.
It's a peaceful walk and generally the people that you will pass are friendly as you walk through the Worcestershire countryside.
There are beautiful views and the lock keepers cottages are all quite varied.
Ideally the best route is from St Barts Church, where you can park your car, walk across the field that leads to the towpath and then it's a straight walk down to the Queens Head.
Well worth the walk and if you're sensible, a spot of lunch followed by the pleasant amble back to walk off those calories from your lunch.

Coffee and cake were excellent: delicious coffee cake for me and meringue with blueberries for my friend who needs gluten-free treats. Lovely things in the Gallery shop, mainly with a farm or countryside angle: cards, trinkets, ceramics, kitchen textiles etc. There is a farm shop too with home grown meat & eggs.

A great day out. We really enjoyed it! There are so many great items on display housed behind the old shop fronts of Bromsgrove High Street.

I visited here the end of June 2016 with a group of students. This is a beautiful wood however the car park is a disgrace, it is not the wardens fault but local people who drop litter and do not pick it up. There was general litter, black dog poo bags full and used adult items.
