Café and Emporium Café serves a selection of foods, including homemade cakes and gluten free products. The emporium has many items such as gifts, clothes, toys and more
A great little cafe selling good food and nice coffee. Also yummy milkshakes. Love the market stalls in there with unusual items. Especially recommend browsing the clothes rails - always different to the usual stock in the high street shops. Nice friendly staff. Always a pleasure to pop in for a browse

Plumpton is a hidden gem in the world of horseracing. The thrill of Jump racing, the joy of a win, delicious food and drink, and stunning rural backdrop provide a memorable sporting experience for everyone from novice to racing expert. We race 16 times a year between September and May, and with a track just over a mile round (one of the smallest in the country) we offer great viewing of the whole course. You feel as though you can almost touch the horses as they thunder past the winning post on each circuit. You are also likely to be rubbing shoulders with the UK's top trainers and jockeys who regularly come to Plumpton, and we are renowned as a nursery ground for the equine stars of the future.
A beautiful late summer, early autumn day was the perfect backdrop for a very fun accessible trip out to the races. With fun activities for the kids there is something for the whole family. Donkey rides, face painting and a climbing wall all came included in the price (adults pay - children go free on Family Race Day - not sure about other days) as well as the hilarious inflatable horse racing, not to be missed. There was a faire too - standard fair prices for the standard stalls. The racing was great fun, lot's of independents as well as the Tote depending on your preference. You can buy tickets that allow access only to the central area and not the grandstand. If you're there for the atmosphere, the faire and having a picnic with friends or family that's a good deal. For my money if you do want to have a bet a Grandstand ticket is essential as it gives the best view of the finish line and is the most exciting placed to watch a race climax. The queue to leave looked like it could take a while, but it didn't, so don't worry about staying to see the last race, stick around have another pint have a last bet and enjoy!

Washbrooks is a family run farm located at the base of the South Downs in the pretty village of Hurstpierpoint. We have a large animal barn and paddocks with all your favourite farm animals. Our extensive outdoor play area offers hours of play as well as an indoor play area for rainy days. The tearoom offers home cooked food everyday from 9.30am - 4pm. Love it here! We go every week. Annual membership very reasonable. Plenty for my 2 year old and 5 year old to do. Occasionally they offer animal handling which they both love! New trampolines been installed that are in ground, which is so much safer...Morethank you.

Our family owned vineyard was established in 1972 and we produce award-winning red, white and sparkling English wine. We recently opened a new visitors centre with an enlarged cafe and retail shop and a fantastic viewing balcony overlooking 18 acres of vines. Why not come along and enjoy breakfast or lunch with friends and sample our wines? You can also book a guided tour & tasting (variety of dates and times available) or perhaps experience one of our popular wine masterclasses on a Saturday? We also run special events throughout the year, including fine-dining evenings and summer evening tours.
We popped in for the morning vineyard tour, wine tasting and lunch. And what a brilliant day out!
Rebecca, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. Clearly passionate about wine and very knowledgable. A wonderful sparkling wine welcomed us to the tour, we saw the vines and the cellars, followed by a tasting of 5 wines and a buffet lunch.
Learned loads, the wine was wonderful and the food delicious.
Perfect for a special occasion or simply a fun thing to do if you’re into wine. We followed ours by a lovely walk around Bolney.

My boyfriend and I rented bikes from here after Reading such fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor and they deserve everyone of them! Perfectly located just outside the train station, we were greeted by the lovely Colin and Sam! They couldn't be nicer! So friendly and thorough. They let us try different bikes and found me the perfect bike! I felt a little wobbly after not cycling for so long and the bike was perfect.
They gave us maps and told us perfect routes (and pubs!), helmets, tool kits, pumps.
They really were the loveliest people and we had a wonderful day cycling around the South Downs.
We were met by Colin's son Toby who was as lovely as the others!
Definitely coming back!

exciting prairie garden of approx 8 acres planted in the naturalistic style using 50,000 plants of over 1000 different varieties.Expect layers of colour , texture and architectural splendour. Permanent sculpture collection and exhibited sculpture. Rare breed sheep and pigs, Cosy teashop and garden room artist in residence exhibition, small shop Woodchip pathways inside borders not accessible but plenty of flat garden for both wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Accessible WC. Dogs welcome on a short lead. Please see website for opening days and dates .
The Gardens here are simply stunning - huge borders - so wide visitors are encouraged to walk amongst them as well as past them. There is plenty of space and its been used very well - huge drifts of plants informally distributed with repeating patterns to enhance the impact.
Really lovely for a walk around and through on a summer afternoon.
The cafe is a delight - casual and relaxed with huge slices of cakes and never ending pots of tea. Staff positively encourage you to come back for a top up of hot water.
A delight - we wish we'd visited sooner!

Founded in 1959 and still steaming! We run steam trains between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead on over 200 days each year, and are open even when no trains are running.
Chilly day in February with the Sulky Service running, well worth the visit even if it was a bit early for the bluebells! Only one train running today so opportunity’s a little limited, but at the end of the day you don’t need much more. The Engine Shed at Sheffield Park is still closed for remodelling, should be great when finished.
