The highlight of the Bellpepper restaurant at Hyatt Regency Mainz is the open show kitchen, which gives insight into food preparation and the staff around Chef Sven-Ole Hastreiter. The modern and elegant interior design, with magnificent views of the Rhine River, offers the ideal ambiance for a dinner for two, with friends or business partners. The restaurant serves creatively prepared dishes with regional and international influences. The exquisite culinary creations are prepared from fresh, using local ingredients in the open show kitchen in front of guests' eyes. A walk-in wine boutique with a variety of regional and international wines invites guests to pick one's favourite. In the summer months, the beautiful Bellpepper Terrace serves delights from the menu under white awnings with stunning views of the Rhine River.
We went for dinner and had their seasonal prix fix menu of 4 including dessert. The food was excellent and the recommended wine pairings were great choices. The ambiance is a bit noisy with an open-air kitchen which we found very enjoyable but would not be good if you are looking for a quiet dinner. The service was excellent as well, very friendly yet professional. I would definitely go back again.

When I lived in Mainz I used to go to this place for my wedding anniversary in July. You will need a reservation and make your reservation for the patio. It's a very nice space to sit outside and feel a little dolce vita. :)

Despite living in this town for many years, I have only recently discovered this excellent restaurant and wine bar in connection with a visit to the nearby "Kammerspiele". It's located in a residential street where you wouldn't normally expect it, but it's only a few...MoreThank you very much for your positive review. It's nice to read, that you enjoyed your stay with us and hope, you'll return soon, to try our dessert - I love our small chocolate cake! Maybe after our next Kammerspiele-Visit? See you soon!

We decided to try this place without a reservation. We were told we could dine there but had to leave by 7:30 for a reservation. No problem as it was only 6:00 pm. I ordered the filet steak and my wife ordered the Rumpsteak. A little bit of advice order a higher temperature then you do in the US. If you like medium order medium well. This was also explained to us. we took our chances and ordered as we did in US and it was 1 to 2 temperatures below. No problem. My medium was more rare than medium rare. The wine is great, the staff is friendly and attentive. My wife's steak came out a bit fatty and it was hard to eat. We mentioned at end of meal and they bought us an after drink. All in all great experience. Nice atmosphere and would try again.

I invited family/friends for an asparagus dinner.
spic span and clean, newly renovated restaurant within an ancient place right across the church in Hochheim. Nice interior and perfect service.
Amuse Geule were pork Wan Tan on a spicey Thai Chilly Sauce - European taste (not hot)
Creme of Asparagus Soup was of perfect texture and the Oil of Pumpkin seeds complimented the taste surprisingly well.
Main Course: Asparagus spears Immatuculate white and boiled to perfection with two pieces of fillet of pork on a sauce, that fit perfect to taste.
Desert: Ice cream was also good
I should like to say it was a perfect setting, with perfect service and a perfect dinner over all.
I recommend this place

Priceworth Balkan restaurant. Situated in the small wine village called "Massenheim", (which belongs to Hochheim, but is only 10 km from Hofheim aswell).
They offer delicious grill dishes (8-15 Eur), but also standard German menu. E.g. Schnitzel (8-12 Eur, salads (8-12 Eur).
I liked especially the Beef and Lam meat skewers and delicious baked potato's.
Massenheim is situated into a wine region (Rheingau, Riesling) and in al restaurants they offer a large wine list.

Wagenrad is a regular stop for us. Great for out of town visitors, with plenty of support for non-german speakers. The biergarten is interesting and the menu is easy. They have some good local wines and some in-house grappa.

we love this little italian place in the middle of hochheim. we love the italian kitchen and go a lot to italian restaurants in hochheim and the cities close by. this one is just perfect. the service is great, the food is great. the "Kalbsschnitzel mit Gorgonzola" are wonderful, molto bene, also the carpaccio and other dishes. ask for specials ( sometimes fish specials or menu specials, wine specials and others!) this place is sharing the number 1 places for italian food with marco & momo in Wiesbaden! great place, go there.

This is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful town. There are many restaurants in Hochheim, but this one caught our eye because of the lovely courtyard and we were not disappointed! The food and choice was excellent and plentiful (too much really!) accompanied with an excellent bottle of local Riesling. We dined outside in the courtyard and there is another lovely Seating area up stairs. Service was very good and the prices were very reasonable would recommend it.

The Ristorante-Pizzeria La Vigna is an excellent restaurant providing a variety of Italian meals; offerings including brick-oven pizza, home made paste, salads, fish, and meat dishes. The owner manager is from Catania, Sicily, and the menu is designed around dishes from that region of Italy. The brick-oven thin crust pizza is fantastic; they also bake bread in the brick-oven as well as other dishes. The Ristorante-Pizzeria La Vigna is open 7 days a week. But, you need to get there before 7:00 PM or wait in line. The Ristorante is located just 100 yards from the medi-evil market square. The old Tudor beam houses add a lot of charm to the area. Hochheim Am Main also has bus and rail links to Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Heidelburg, which are less than a hour away. Hochheim is also a large wine producing city with numerous wine cellars and a host of other restaurants.
