This is truly a wonderful experience for everyone. The exhibition nicely explains how caves form and how they are discovered. They even have some minotors with 3D images and videos explaining stuff in 3D. The lake beneath is simply wonderful.
Be sure to book your ticket at least one day ahead and arrive on time. The guide speaks Hungarian but I've seen audio guide options.
Staff at the reception was a bit unfriendly but our guide was very kind and professional.

Dropped in to see the castle last Fri & it did not disappoint! The walk up is steep but well worth it. The castle totally dominates the entire area with views for miles in every direction, really giving a fantastic depiction of what it was like here many moons ago. Lots of history to read & absorb from the building of the castle to it's fall into disrepair. Worth a couple of hours of anyone's time.

We spent a weekend at Koveskal and visites the market, which is open only on Sundays. You can park your car close to the market for a small fee.The market is usually crowded, but it worths the hassle. You can find here homemade goatcheese, sausages, pastry, bread, marmalade amd honey too.You can taste everything, the sellers are very friendly. At the back of the market you can find antiquities.

It is quite an excursion to climb up to the castel of Csobánc but it is really worth it. Not especially because of the ruins (though I liked them) because there not much left but the view if really stunning from above.

Endre Szászi's biodynamic, handicraft wines from the Szigliget region near Lake Balaton are among our favourites so we wanted to visit his winery once as well. It was a great experience. We did not order a lunch in advance (as guests are supposed to) but...MoreThank you for taking your valuable time to provide us with feedback about Szászi winery by sharing your experience!

If you are ever nearby Badacsonytordemic, visiting Skizo is a must! The wine is great, the place is very well designed (as well as the wine bottles) and the service is awesome! Be prepared to taste some very delicious wine at Skizo and learn some fun facts about their history!

This is how the Canyons of the US west would look like if it had water. Strange rock formations that formed millions of years ago when the area was under water, just like the US west. There are short little slot Canyons, rock that sways, small arches. Since there is rain here, the formations never developed as the US west but got covered with plants, trees, soil and only the very tip of the rocks can be seen. Here you can see rock formations, the stone recesses are colonized by plants, rare flowers. The whole surrounding basin is similar: there is a smaller rock sea by Kővágóörs (literally translated as "Stone cutting sentinel") and Salföld.

Szent György-hegy is one of the busiest tourist place in Tapolca-basin. The 415 m high witness-hill offers a beautiful sight even from the "mountain's skirts", but the Panorama from the top it's near 360°. On the way up you can admire at close quarters the 30-meter height and 1.5 meters in diameter reaching basaltic columns ("basalt organ pipes"). The mountain is also accessible from direction Hegymagas and Raposka. To the "mountain's skirts" you can drive up from both direction. Unfortunately, finding the tour signs are sometimes quite difficult, you should get a tour map. The round will take 3-4 hours, get drink and food with you.
