Lots of adrenaline, thrills and challenges - supervised and lead by an enthusiastic and safety conscious company. Both the teenagers and adults loved the excitement, being outdoors and trying new things. This was the highlight of our trip.
Rafting had plenty of thrills, but also a chance to float in the river and jump off a bridge.
Canyoning in Hell’s canyon was fabulous. Loved being in that surreal environment, maneuvering through it with various types of rope challenges. Our guide’s focus on safety paired with his good sense of humor gave us the confidence to try all the new challenges.
The company was very responsive and helpful in arranging the activities. They were also flexible when we had one person come down sick and be unable to attend the events. All of their gear was clean, well maintained and fit well.

Parque Nacional de Aiguestortes

We received a pretty good and detailed map from the hotel we were staying at that showed all the roads and hiking trails. If you are not familiar with Spain's Parque Nationals, then you should know that there is really no visitor center here (like in the USA versions). The trails are not groomed, per se, not many safety rails and so on. You are pretty much hiking into Wilderness. Also no camping is allowed here and overnight stays are only permitted in what they call "refuges". We hiked Ribera de Sant Nicolau (a priest used to live along this trail), Ruta de la Marmota, Barruera - Boi (the most scenic of all) and other lesser trails in the area. The views are fantastic and the hiking is superb. One can rent a taxi to ride where you cannot drive your car, but we did not see this as much fun to do, so we leave this method of seeing the park to invalids or lazy people.

Mont-rebei Gorge

As it passes through the Mont-rebei gorge, the Noguera Ribagorcana rivers runs through the dephts of a canyon that reaches heights of 500 metres, with a span that narrows at points to less than 20 metres. It is the country's last great gorge that remains in a nearly pristine state but that is also easily accessible to visitors. It is crossed only by a bridle path that has been cut into the rock, allowing visitors to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Reviewed By Dale W - Clayton, California

I highly recommend this scenic location for a hike. The walls of the gorge reach vertical heights in excess of 1,500 feet at points where the width of the gorge is about 60 feet. This makes for some impressive views, especially with the aquamarine water down below. What distinguishes this area for hiking is not only the scenery but also the fact that much of the trail was cut into the rock, so in many places the mountain is over you, almost as if you were in a tunnel with the side open. The route is very plainly marked; the path is well-worn and if there's any doubt, painted symbols on the rocks point the way. This hike is not for the out-of-shape; one should have at least a bit of physical stamina to in order to complete it. And be careful as there are no guardrails. In some places, the trail is narrow and one must stop to let people coming in the opposite direction pass safely. Bring lots of water, snacks, and sun protection to have an enjoyable time. The gorge is about an hour-and-a-half due north of the city of Lleida, in the "pre-Pyrenees."

Even if "seeing old stones" is not your thing, Sant Climent deserves a visit, it´s a must if you´re exploring the area. It has an outstanding artistic value, although the paintings were relocated in Barcelona. So, enjoy its beautiful Lombard romanic architecture and spend some time watching the multimedia show on the walls. That will only set you back 5 euros. I also climbed the belltower up to the top, a nice experience indeed, but not suitable for everyone as the stairs are more than just steep. It´s a nice feeling when you reach the bells level, as your shoulder has literally to rub on the bells on your way upstairs. Be careful especially when going down, the ladder steps are not ergonomic. Once you get to the top, although the tower isn´t particularly high, you get nice views, being other two towers lined with Sant Climent.

Celler Burgos Porta

We visited Celler Burgos Porta, home of the Mas Sinén wines on a Sunday. The owner, Salvador, took us around the vineyards, cellar and barrel maturation and explained everything in great detail and with much enthusiasm and with many anecdotes. This was followed by a tasting of 4 of his excellent wines - big, serious wines which are typical to the DOQ.
The drive there is also spectacular, so all-in-all a great experience!
