Loved everything! Nice wine, delicious "montaditos". Excelent value for money. We were there for dinner only me and my husband and we felt great. Another day we went with our kids and other friends for having lunch and it was great as well. Some of the kids didn't want to try the "montaditos" and chose something from the menu. We paid 100 euros 4 adult and 4 kids (beers, 1 martini, iced teas, water etc.)

Modern cuisine and homemade pizzas
Just had such a wonderful dinner at La Granja.
Service was great and very well informed. I got a quick low down on Spanish wine and an excellent recommendation.
I received an unexpected amuse bouche which was very tasty.
I ordered the filet mignon. I know my meat and am very particular and this was outstanding. Lots of flavour and cooked to my liking.
I had the chocolate volcano for dessert. Very very good.
I have four days here and plan to return.
I arrived shortly after opening at 8 and the restaurant filled up quickly! So don’t waste time!

There are three restaurants in the same building. Ticolet has very tasty yet a little bit overpriced food compared to other restaurants around. The portions are big and the service is nice.
The Raclette restaurant is also quite nice with a lot of cheese that will definitely fill you up.
The best of these three was the barbeque place where you grill your own food in a tablegrill. The meni includes wine and it was a bargain of 27e per person.
The cutest thing is the old golden retriever welcoming everyone by the door.

In Arties, in the heart of the Aran Valley and only 6 km. Our friends insisted on us going to Casa Irene and they were right. A nice cozy ambiance with a selection of local dishes typical from the Aran Valley. My favourite was the Foie.
Reservations in advance are needed.
The crowd was more in the late 50's, suppose it's expected as it is not inexpensive, but worth your while definitely!

At 32 Eur a full 3+ course meal is great including wine.
Snails portion is very generous and also other portions were large.
Two quails or 3 pork cheeks were also a lot. There was a small drinkable sorbet between starter and maincourse. Went back 2 nights later.

La Tarteria has recently moved a few meters away from the former placement at Arties. The new premises is a bit smaller but it keeps the old charming decoration.
Service and food quality are excellent. A very cosy setting, great options in the menu, and a remarkably wine offer. Excellent value for money
A must if you are visiting Val d'Aran.

We booked a table to celebrate the New Years lunch here, and we were not disappointed.
It's cuisine is local, there is nothing fancy in the menu but all dishes are cooked to perfection, really tasty and nice, and the quantity is more than what you would eat anyway.. Desserts are also homemade and very good, we thoroughly enjoyed having lunch there and will be back if we are around.
Don't forget to book as it looks like locals know the quality of the place and hence there are loads of regular clients!!

Tredos is a typical Aranese village down the road from the ski resort of baquiera. it hasn't been built up or gentrified like Arties down the road, and isn't on the main road like Salardu. Its very quiet, not many foreign visitors, which is cool. the streets are winding with all the old houses, in the centre of the old village is the placa major with this family-run restaurant on it. its pretty quiet, we ate at 930 on thursday and sunday and were one of two tables full each time (out of 5 or 6 in total). the quality and quantity of the food is fantastic, and the value. pretty good reasonable wine list (muga for 19 euros). Olla Aranesa stew highlight as a starter, all the meat dishes great for main course. loved this place. menu for 3 courses is 33 euros per person, we spend less than 50 all told on a 3 course meal with wine and beer. highly recommended. oh, good if you speak some spanish or catalan. if you don't, just smile and point, and bring a dictionary. the waiter didn't speak english or french, the owner and his wife do.
