However, you need to be prepared for sometimes annoying crowd and to search very well for what you are looking. It's not always so obvious, which stands are worth a stop

Ponte de Dom Luis I

Built in 1886, this bridge links Porto and Gaia.

Reviewed By Gary S - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Well we picked the wettest Easter on record to visit Porto.
We did the lower part of the bridge on the pouring rain and the return from the Dark Side by the upper bridge in what can only be described as crazy windswept outward bound type adventure. People were blown sideways. Umbrellas broken beyond repair.
What a day.
It's just a bridge...looks the bees knees. It was built back in 1792...so with those winds it has stood the test of time.
We were shot blasted but survived.

We have just completed a large group tour of northern Portugal. Activities were organised by Splendid Evasions and the service was exemplary. From a sardine factory tour to the Medieval dinner outside Aveiro, we were treated very well over a week. Special thanks to the enthusiasm of Anna and the passion and knowledge of Francesco.
We also took a private trip as a couple before the group. We were attracted to the National Park option outside Arcos de Valdevez. Unfortunately a whole lotta' rain put paid to the plans. Replanting on the run was (almost) seemless and we enjoyed 3 days of walks and a 4 wheel drive tour. Thanks to Pedro and the team

This centre shows English language films, which is great for a small costal town like Espinho. They change only about once a week and normally there is a selection of two at any one time.

Coll's is a small pub with good beers, whisky & salt popcorn. Good ambience, excelent to spend some time with friends having good conversations. It's a pitty that sometimes the bar is completely full (because is really small) and the music is awful.

Casino Espinho

Inaugurated in 1974, the Casino Espinho has always been a landmark in the entertainment area in the north of the country. Situated just 17 kms from the city of Porto and with a prime location next to the beach, the first Solverde unit is proud of its prestige and tradition. By keeping up with the trends, without neglecting the expectations of those who frequent the Casino, Solverde invested, over the years, in several renovations and improvements that make this space not only one of the best places for gambling and fun, but also one of the largest showrooms of Porto and the North.

I'm not very au fait with Casinos, but this one really is just the local spot for a quick gamble and run. Not much in the way of entertainment, unless you enjoy watching people gamble.

Praia da Barrinha

Reviewed By CarlosSantos - Porto, Portugal

Esmoriz, orinally a small fishing village, has one of the widest beachs of the North of Portugal, just about 45minutes drive South of Porto. The Barrinha Beach, kept spotless and with waters very clear, is the ultimate family beach.
An old-style Pavilion, which evoke the feeling of step back in time, is the perfect place to have a snack or light meal.
Being a Blue Flag beach, there are plenty of facilities and good disable access. In Summer there's always some sort of activity on the beach and lifegard service makes for safe batthing.
