Seriously this place has everything you want in a family or friend or romantic outing & walk in the woods - I suspect that the leaves will turn in early October for the spectacular , although the pkace is open year round it's just special .
I'd say about 8 km of intertwined trails some straight some winding some climbing and some down right rock climbing ( but nothing too strenuous ) kids , ado , adults , elderly will all enjoy this place !!!
Pack a lunch / nap sack - stop during your hike and have a nature snak ( no restaurants ) but there is bathrooms ....
Frankly I went with friends and had such a nice day --- I was just charmed - and wondering why after 56 years of life I have not been here before - but I'll be back - about 1 hour from Montreal - 7$ per person charge ( think of it as a donation as this place is impeccable ) you'll swear your in the great north ( but without the Bears ! ).
We did see deer and Doe , a beaver and ducks ! Yup there's a lake at the top !!!
There is trails for all challenges and being a mountain in the middle of the plains --- once on the top WOW you see forever !!!!
After your hike back down , there is plenty of restaurants in the nearby town so make a day-eve excursion - a wonderful friendly city this St Hilaire they've done we'll with tourism offering and quite clean city
Check the weather befor you go , bring what you need , running or hiking shoes , I guarantee a great day with kids of all ages , ( we bumped into seniors and people with baby carriages so -- No Excuses !!!! Get out for a walk :) !!!!

I went there with my grandchildren during the March break to watch a movie and I decided to try the D-Box option with them . The movie was great , the refillable popcorn was excellent , the seats were quite comfortable but the D-Box option was not worth the money I paid for !

This was my second visit to this vineyard - we decided to do a little foodie tour of the Monteregie area to buy up some local goodies. Our first stop was at this vineyard. The setting is lovely, with rows of vines in front of the house, in the back and on the side. Makes for lovely photos. You really do feel like you are visiting an out of the way spot, as for not too long of a distance, you are travelling on gravel road. But its location adds to its charm - it is really not too hard to find.
You can do the tasting of all of their wines, from rose, white, red and fortified wines for $7. If you end up buying wine, then you do not pay the tasting fee (no worries for us, we ended up buying 12 bottles - if you do that, you get a 10% discount). The lady who offered us the tasting was one of the owners. She gave very good descriptions of the wines, and, as we left, good recommendations of other places in the area for goat cheese, meats, etc.
I noticed that you could have a drink of their lovely Terrace. We did not have time for that - next time! We will return. Highly recommended.

On a warm, sunny summer evening, we joined guide Eric and a group of about 40 people for the "see the black bear excursion" at 7pm. The price is very reasonable, the whole tour/explanation is in french, but seeing the bears, language is no problem.
After a short introduction by Eric and a five minute stroll, we arrive at a hut in the forest. Here he is already, our first male black bear who feasts on prepared eggs and honey-coated trees. He is just a few yards away and soon "joined" (in a safe distance) by a female bear with her three babies.
You get to take lots of pictures and would even get your money back, if there was no bear sighting.
Best on our evening: After sunrise three racoons observe the bears from a safe distance.
Yes, we would definitively do it again.

This restored fort is now a history museum.
The last time I visited the fort there were only the four walls standing and archaeological digs were just beginning. People were fishing on top of the walls. Advance 40 years and what a surprise. The buildings that have been erected and the information and items that have been placed into the fort bring out the history of the French that were protecting the fort. Children and adults can don costumes of the era for pictures and experience the clothing of the times. There is a good illustration of life in that period in both pictures/film and artifacts as well as models depicting life at the fort. The children were able to do a treasure hunt that gives them a gift if they find all the items listed on the form they receive. The personnel working there were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The area surrounding the fort is a great place for picnics, fishing or just enjoying the Richelieu River. Since the admission is free this year, this is the place to visit.

There are a myriad of options within this park. The scenery is beautiful along the walks, often you are walking within Forests of birch or elm or maple. Abundant wild life to see along the way. We saw so many deer on the day we went. Sqirrells everywhere. There are 3 main lakes and lots of viewing areas to sit and rest. A great way to get out of the city and get some fresh air.

Come and enjoy a true Scandinavian experience in the midst of nature just a few minutes from the town center of Mont-Saint-Hilaire. Located on the edge of the mountain, Strom Mont-Saint-Hilaire offers you an exceptionally beautiful natural setting. Combining Nordic spa and urbanity, the Strom promotes the healing of body and mind. The thermal experience is based on the concept of alternating hot and cold cycles, followed by a period of full-body relaxation. It eliminates toxins, relaxes the muscles, improves sleep quality, stimulates the immune system and contributes to overall good health and well-being, cleansing the body both physically and spiritually.
My wife and I made Reservations at the spa about a month or so in advance of our stay. When we arrived we were told that they didn't have our reservation and after some discussion, they determined that they made a mistake when booking. They were able to accommodate my wife but not me. We asked if they could substitute a facial or something similar but there were no openings. I felt like they didn't try hard enough. So they suggested massage chairs which were fine but clearly not the same. I hung out in the whirlpools in the back. Now it this was the only issue and they went out of their way to make up for the error, it would have been fine. What's more, it's not a high end spa as we were led to believe. I had no idea where I was going, most high end places escort you, they seemed more concerned with making sure people were quite, which was way over the top. After my time in thw various whirlpools, I sat on the lounge chairs and was surprised that there were a number of flies buzzing around and no one was doing anything about it. When we went to shower off, there were no towels in the locker areas and we had to bring our robes upstairs, it's not a huge deal but we were not pampered that's for sure. Be sure to bring your own footwear. Very disappointing.

Vergers Petit et Fils is a brilliant Enterprise featuring all kinds of apple (the kind you eat) products. In September you can pick a sack of them.
The apples are good. The cider is fine. There are activities for kids as well. They have a tractor that pulls guests (on a wagon) to the spots where they want you to pick.
Parking is available, yet can get hectic on busy weekends.
Be prepared to pay 18$ for a plastic grocery sack of apples. Pricey! Yet, if you are in need of an apple picking experience, this one will do.
